Yes got a good slippering at school. Teacher would draw a pattern with chalk on the sole of the slipper before hitting you across the arse with it. The he'd rub the chalky imprint off with hands.

It was a barbaric practice. Specially so when the (usually a gym) teacher would have a class of thirty boys touching their toes while he slippered each in turn along the line to try and compensate for his poor teaching.

I’ve received some weird private messages as a result of engaging with this thread. One in particular amounted to fantasies, if not an admission, of CSA.

The only reason I haven’t reported that message is that I’m also struggling to believe an ex-headteacher is who he claims to be given that he didn’t check his work before submitting it. I couldn’t be sure he meant what I thought I was reading … sorry, gents, I’m feeling sick at receiving such a message.

It wasn't a plimsoll that was used when I was at school. It was the Lochgelly tawse - try Googling it. It was always given on the palms of the hand. Some teachers would belt so hard that your hands would swell and you couldn't hold your pencil to do your work. Work undone meant another belting. There were a lot of sadistic teachers around who enjoyed doing it. Thank goodness it's been banned.

Damn, it never crosses my mind to take screenshots. I’ve just gone into my messages to do exactly that and it has been deleted. I hope admin got there first.
