Well I'm off home this morning. Throughly enjoyed my week here. Went to:

Salt mines. Absolutely stunning.

Auswitch death camp. Very sad and sombre place. Not a bird in the sky, but a must see.

Oskar Schindlar factory. Well worth the visit, but go for a guided tour, as their knowledge is priceless.

Castle, and Dragon tour. Very interesting, even saw the dragon breath fire.

Took a tour round the city on an electric buggy (make sure you agree fare with driver before setting off)

Walked around the old Jewish Square, very interesting.

Joseph 12. A place that featured in the film Shindlars list. Most enlightening.

Heroes Square. This is where the selection process took place. Left = transportation, right = workforce etc.

Eagle pharmacy. Ordinary Poles, owner and staff helped and hid Jews from the Nazi's.

Underground museum. This is situated under the main square, and contains stuff from as far back as the 12th century. Very interesting.

Countless Church's. All over the place. Most beautiful.

Beer and food. The wide range of food was exceptional, and reasonably priced, even in the City centre, but obviously a bit cheaper the farther away you got from the centre. Beer prices ranged from in my experience 20-25zl = £4-£5 in the Irish Bars, and a few Restaurants. Found 1 bar where it was 10zl = £2, for 400ml Just under a pint) but the bar I used the most was a cella bar called Free (on the corner of the main square), where I was paying 12zl = £2.50ish for a pint.

Even managed 2 meets for fun while here aswel.

Will certainly be back very soon.

Also found 2 Irish bars. I know they are all over the world, but being Irish, I had to pop in.

I tried do do something different every day. Missed out on going to the site of a forced labour camp Plasov (spelling is wrong) not far from Schindlars factory. It was featured in the film Schindlers list. And also fancied a river cruise, but as I was on my own, I never bothered.

I worked on the project to get the airport built in Lublin so went there numerous times. Like Krakow, a city with a dark history and a camp in the outskirts but just ine barrack block as a memorial. Bleak and sobering

And I’d head to Sopot on the Baltic Coast for a break. Nice spa hotel with its own beach

Poland really impressed me

Sopot is a lovely place, a spa town with a great beach , pier and a relaxed vibe .It's only a short train journey from Gdansk , another very interesting city I'd definitely recommend for food architecture and history.

Hitler stayed in the Grand Hotel, I had lunch there and used the fabulous private beach , it's fabulous.

East Kent

These observations remind me of seeing the film 'A Real Pain' earlier this year. A sharp two-guys 'road trip' in Poland, with a historically dark undertow. The architecture and aura of the country were very well evoked, and piqued my interest. Recommended.

I went about 20 years ago before it got a busy place. Rented an apartment for 9 days. Friendly and helpful people most of the youngsters spoke english.

I had the pleasure of visiting Spartacus gay sauna yesterday (Sunday afternoon). I've read contradictory stuff on Trip Advisor, so here's my take as a foreigner with not a word of Polish.

Definitely recommended. A gentle vibe with almost everyone enjoying the touch of another. The sauna has cosy space for 6 and enough room for some play and sucking. The steam room is also a dark room - bigger and with play in all corners. There is an upstairs very light big bedded room which had a mix of very happy voyeurs, and very welcoming guys who shared a cock and a stroke, suck and a play. It was lovely massaging a lovely guy with a massive cock to full scale release. He rather liked being covered as I came too.

The joy of a sauna is that language is really not needed. I got all the smiles and the gentle move-away that is needed to navigate the space.

There's a rooftop garden area (closed for very good reasons...gloves and hats are just not sexy in naked space). There were other darker spaces which were a bit cold, but I am sure are heaving with fun in the summer months.

There are cubicles and play private spaces, but I much prefer to stay in the open with others - feels safer and more fun.

The big open shower room also has urinals in the adjacent space. A couple of us found this a fun way to connect.

Like all the gay saunas I know it is a bit run down in places, but felt very clean. Theres a bar and chill out spaces. And it is about 15 mins walk from the centre of the city.

Enjoy
