A car is a car to me now, as long as it is comfortable, looks good, has a decent entertainment system and is economical then that's all I care about now, Asian cars are the best as come fully loaded, German cars cost loads for extras to be added.

There's so many cool cars from across the years that I'd want to collect, money no object.

But, as a daily driver, for practicality and fun factor, I'd go for a Mercedes AMG E63 estate. Not the new E53 hybrid version, but the previous model E63. 603hp. 0-60in 3.3secs, massive boot, loads of room and comfortable as fook.

Don't you find these days that all cars look the same. All the same basic shape. I assume it must have something to do with research and aerodynamics and the manufacturers have all agreed that this basic shape works.

When I was a kid there seemed to be more choice of cars.

I used to have a 1750, reasonably attractive styling, practical, economical, superb handling, ride comfort equal to a 1960's Rolls Royce Silver Shadow (speaking from experience). Probably the most under rated British car ever.

Modern cars have to meet a lot of legislative criteria. One requirement is that in the event of collision with a pedestrian, the frontal area should deflect them sideways, not toss them into the air.

So many new cars today look the same. I've got a newish car, auto, press button start etc - lots of toys. What I'd love to have is a manual, petrol with a turn key and a nice exhaust sound. I'd really like an old Merc or Jaguar XJS or a Citroën DS from the 1970s. Cars with personality.

I must be getting old because a car for me is now about practicality etc. However yesterday there was a car in the outside lane of a dual carriageway next to me that was sleek, black and looked incredible. It was a Lotus Eletre 900.

I’d not seen one before so I looked up the price, a snip at £130k. A man can dream

I honestly wouldn’t change from the car I have today. I drive a Tesla Model 3 Performance. It is a comfortable family saloon that goes from 0-60 in 3.2s and charging at home costs me around £5 for a full charge. I really don’t care about the people who get butthurt over the thought that someone likes EVs I love this car and won’t be going back to Petrol.

If I could drive any car or have any car back I'd have my last one returned,i had a l322 range Rover, 62 plate last of the proper range Rovers, 4.4 V8 diesel, beast of a car but so gentle and soft too, before anyone jumps down my throat about how reliable they are (or not ) I know, usually about a grand every 2 months as at that age they always want something doing but when they ok they are absolutely fantastic and not as heavy on fuel as people make out, I'd have it back tomorrow if I could

I have a 12 yo Jaguar XF diesel, I’m struggling justifying chopping it in for something newer, so comfortable and easy to drive.

If someone offered me the money I’d get a Maserati Levante and/or a Quatttoporte

I wish I could have kept 3 and stored them:

Mark 1 vw Golf GTI pillar box red

Mark 1 vw scirroco

Lancia Beta coupe

Less good were

Triumph Dolomite

Nissan Sunny

Everyday car would be a Rover P5B Coupe.

Weekends would be a Lambo 400GT or something of that ilk.

"I've long had a hankering for a Lancia Delta Integrale.

You beat me to it. I had a Lancia Delta. It was a beautiful machine. Temperamental on damp fays but a joy to drive. Lovely design but rusted before your eyes"

When I was young, somebody local had a Delta painted in the Martini racing livery. It looked amazing.

I've had a couple of P5 Rovers. Lovely cars and the look of amazement from drivers of moderns as you hammer past them on the motorway is sweet.

I want the same car that members of the upper echelons of the Royal family use

It comes with free petrol, a chauffeur, no bills park where you like , never held up in traffic and those butch motorcycle outriders

Failing that a brand new Morris Minor Countryman. with hanging baskets/ window boxes and an inbuilt Labrador

Not too fussed car-wise. Quite happy with medium si_ed cars. Tend to favour Citroens and Peugeots though currently owning a Vauxhall. Would love to have a big powerful motorbike again but cannot through health reasons.

Currently drive a leased Hyundai Ioniq 5 which is a pretty cool EV as EVs go, I love the tank like look of it but it weighs two tonnes and has no driving excitement. I still enjoy twisty B roads where the instant electric torque shines but not nearly as much fun as I used to have in my old tiny one litre shitboxes. Still though, i do lots of 400+ miles drives and its a sublime motorway cruiser due to the weight

If I was to buy my own car again Id go for a medium si_ed van and convert it into a campervan for me and my dog and travel the uk sucking cock

Have you seen the N versions of the Ioniq 5 and 6.

Apparently 650 horse power. They sound rather amazing.

I've always fancied having as a hobby car, a late 1940's - early 1950's coach-built motor with running boards, big headlights, flat screen, lots of walnut and leather inside and with at least a 6-cylinder lump of power. A great uncle had such a motor when I was very young, I remember riding in it once, but can't recall what make it was, possibly a Daimler, but really not sure, it was certainly different to my Dad's Ford Cortina. 😆

The KR500 was the one to have. 90mph in a fifties bubble car if you were brave enough. They even had canopies similar to the fighter plane.
