I'll bet they don't stink as much as British prisons, what's the program called?

Try watching American television if you think Channel 5 is bad.

It's extremely down-market, aimed at a certain not-too-intelligent type of viewer.

I think you are mixing up channel 5 with the bias BBC

I'm watching Michael Buerk's excellent series about the Victorians at the moment. Random statement, yes. Recommended? Also, yes. Sexy? No. Definitely not.

Didn't realise it was a new documentary. Assumed it was a repeat so didn't bother. There have been documentaries/mockumentaries on the subject in the past which were not very good.

I didn't know that a young French guy was hung for starting the fire even though he didn't arrive in England until two days after the fire had started!!!

Sounds a bit like the people of Hartlepool who hanged a monkey during the Napoleonic War as a French Spy.

That’s why people from Hartlepool are known as “Monkey Hangers”. Even reflected in their football team’s Mascot “ H'Angus the Monkey” 🤣

Check out use of the rattan in Singapore. They have very little crime over there. Maybe a pilot scheme in the UK would sort out some baddies over here.
