It’s not sustainable. The ideals have gone. It needs money or a complete rebuild. There I’ve said it. Only because I’m fed up waiting for 16 hours when I feel like I’m dying and no one sees me

It receives plenty of money, money is not the issue. It desperately needs reforming, along with many other public services. Unfortunately no government has the appetite to undertake this task.

Instead, the taxpayer continues to pay money into the unproductive public sector.

Would tend to agree with this.

I have family members past and present work in NHS and all say the same. Moral is awful, it’s bloated and overburdened with managers. While some wards are short of nurses and equipment.

I’m not sure any of the current crop of so called politicians are brave enough to do anything radical.

I give it a few years and the whole thing will collapse.

Bloated with managers is so true, costing a fortune in wasted funds. Also paying through the nose for even basic equipment that could be bought on Amazon (others are available) for a quarter of the price. Outside contractors absolutely ripping off the NHS with costs!! Needs someone to kick a few arses and save millions

If you add up all the NHS Doctors nurses , clinicians, physio's, radiologists, porters, paramedics , cooks, laboratory staff, cleaners and estate staff its doesn't come to even half the cost of the Management and Directors salaries , so much spent on management and HR and Directors who cant manage or Direct

I can agree with the equipment. However, things just don't work like that when you get to a system that huge. I have some experience in this with my previous employer.

Part of the issue is traceability and certification for safety etc. Your just not going to get that with Amazon

its ott for many things, but at a corporation of this size (and smaller) that's just how it needs to be done.

But yes it's top heavy, and badly run. Contractors taking the piss (just like they did with us).

There is no accountability because it's not their companies money they are spending.
