Same goes for all the CCTV in public areas and work places - even police or ambulance cam recordings could be fed into face recognition software. Using a VPN can dramatically slow down access, downloading etc. But I have just discovered that you can fire up the VPN and navigate to the site. Then you can close down the VPN. It seems the check is only made on entry. | |||

I overheard my mum on the phone asking the ISP what websites I was on late at night. Thankfully the operator didn't tell her and gave some excuse. (it was just vanilla porn anyway but some of it was gay so I would have been outed). These categories of porn exist for a reason. Other people watch/create it. It's typical human behaviour. It's not that big of a deal although I understand the concerns. The thing about legislation like this is it can never keep up with the technology. And it always underestimates the resourcefulness of teenagers. There's probably 100 ways around this age verification thing already. And at the end of the day, the legislation is there to protect young people so it is a good thing.
