" ![]() Haha obviously, they were too compelling to turn down. Nah, not liking tea or coffee, I wanted something with caffeine in it, I didn’t want sugary drinks and I prefer Pepsi to Coke. I tried shops own brand but they were tasteless.

"I gave up caffeine over 20 years ago as my wife was advised to. My last cup of tea was at work on a Friday afternoon. On Saturday, I started getting a mild headache, which I put down to a few glasses of wine the night before. Unusually, it lasted into Sunday. However on the Monday is was like nothing else I had ever experienced, before or since. Paracetamol wouldn’t touch it. It slowly eased off Tuesday and into Wednesday. I used to drink about 3 cups of coffee a day and about 5 cups of tea. I loved grinding my own coffee beans and could tell a Costa Rica bean from a Columbia. I don’t miss it and still love the coffee aroma, but it tastes vile to me now. The big benefit is sleeping better and more deeply. I drink the occasional tea but my staple hot beverage is Redbush, also known as Rooibos, which has no caffeine. I never took to decaffeinated tea or coffee. " I’m interested in the sleeping more deeply point. I’ve never had any issue with sleep. Did you? So it will be curious to see if my sleep patterns or quality does change/improve. I am excited to learn.

I thought I was sleeping well before giving up, but after the withdrawal symptoms had passed, I was sleeping better. Not necessarily for longer, but much better quality and deeper sleep.

That’s interesting to hear, I am about 1.5 weeks in, although there has been some chocolate, but nothing after the mid afternoon. I am interested to see what comes. Thanks for your experience.
