I remember the 70s when nylon socks were de rigueur (hard-wearing, easy to wash) and created the most vile, almost parmesan-intense foot smells. My dad was especially foul.

I've scrupulously worn only cotton or wool ever since, and only mostly leather shoes, no manmade junk.

Safe to say I was traumatised by the room-dominating vileness and have never ever wanted to inflict it on others, not even if they want it

Years ago when I was around 20 I met an absolutely stunning guy who fell madly in love with me but he had a severe foot sweat problem and I just couldn't bare it at the time. So we parted. He couldn't help it but it stank the flat out.
