Similarities in the Ulster and Gaza Plantations

A holocaust happened in Ireland in the 1840's whilst the majority of planters in the North of Ireland looked on and done nothing.

A modern day holocaust is happening in Gaza and the West Bank whilst the majority of western civilisation looks on and does nothing.

Now we are about to see a modern form of plantation to the detriment of any peaceful or two state solution by the fascist state of Israel

You have been listening to too much Commie propaganda. Ulster wasn't the only plantatiin. All Irish starved, RC and Proddy.

What is going on in Gaza is racial genocide. The cult is destriying Muslims an Christians alike.

What happened in Ireland is different to what is happening in Gazza. England + allies created Israel. It was Palestine from the start when maps/atlases were drawn up. Our Lord was born in Bethleham a village in PALESTINE. Israel never existed until 1948.

Now as for the Irish Famine, the British flooded the north east of Ireland with Scots protestants aswel an English settlers. When the potato blight happened, the land owners continued to send beef, wheat etc out of the country simply to starve the ingenious population to death. By God they done it aswel 1,000,000 died, and another 1,000,000 emigrated to the likes of the USA, Canada, Australia and of course England. That is why St. Patrick's day is celebrated all the world over.

You will never beat the 🇮🇪☘

Also if you look at what they call Northern Ireland (I call it the North of Ireland) after the uprising of 1916, they decided to partition my Country, they literally drew a line across the top quarter, claiming 9 counties, when some one looked into it, they realised 3 of the Counties were mostly Catholic, so after thinking about it, they decided to settle for 6. We should never excepted it and carried on fighting. Ireland has 32 Counties not 26 🇮🇪☘

The 3 countries a dying British Empire decided to partition were Ireland, India and Palestine for varying political reasons. And today none of rhose countries have recovered from that process. Can't rewrite history, and it seems we can't learn from it.

Not so much carried on fighting the British but certainly carried on fighting, sadly it was Irish man against Irish man in a shameful and bloody civil war .

It seems that when England's bloody hands gets involved in any country there is bloodshed and Palestine to this present day is no exception

At the time the Catholic Church in Ireland was pretty poor and only just made legal. I guess some good priests tried to help where they could but were no better off themselves. The international Roman Catholic Church turned a blind eye as the UK wasn't its favourite nation.

Irish history is a bit of an eye-opener. My mother's family were Irish Catholics who moved to England and Wales in the latter part of the 19th century. I actually went to a private school in Co Wexford for a few years. We were never taught Irish history as such. Only as part of British history. I've learnt more since. Still don't think you can compare the terrible Irish famine to what is happening in Gaza.

And the Irish have still never went back , nothing changes, moan about the British but quite happy to stay. A bit like all these migrants who come here and protest on British streets about anything and everything. Wouldn't get to in the countries they come from. Hypocrites.

I suppose it is admirable that the historical alliance between the two countries is remembered, in the fraternal spirit of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend', but I wonder why the other alliance with the Abwehr isn't also commemorated.

You are totally correct in pointing out the clear parallels that exist in these two appalling examples. The starvation of the Irish people by the British is an historical fact, and now GB is complicit in every crime that Israel is visiting on the Arab civilian people including starvation it is revolting. The horrific little entity called Israel will never recover from these constant endless acts of brutality, nor should it be.

"They brought it upon themselves "

Such a sad response. I doubt very much if comes from an individual who has any knowledge of what the Irish people suffered in the starvation which was imposed on them by Britain. More than 2 million people died or forced into emigration from this small island. Not very far different from the aims of the dreadful apartheid entity known as Israel is attempting to do the civilian people of Gaza.]

The post is about the victims of the famine in Ireland and the ongoing famine being imposed on the people of Gaza, so it’s fair to assume that this is relevant to one or both.
