I stopped doing these when I realised how poorly they turn out.

For less than £20-00 I bought a selfie stick. It is a versatile gadget that acts as a tripod and has a remote control. Much better results I think.

Anyone else think the same?

I use the self timer and set the phone well back to get a whole body shot, mostly. It's not hard, and neither is working out what lighting is most flattering. Some just can't be arsed to learn a bit of basic photography I guess.
