As many of you have happy relationships with your husbands, where did you meet? Was it online, F2F? Best place to meet a potential partner?

Met my ex partner at a work conference, I was there as a student, and he had a stall type thing. Ended up in his hotel room in the evening.

Met in a sex venue. Good way to get to know someone. Then when you realise you are interested in them beyond the sex, you know at least that part has all been comprehensively covered. All my long term relationships have been via sexual contacts or hook ups that became serious.

Its over-rated. Been there, been lied to and taken for a mug. Got my revenge and better off on my own. Maybe the grass does look greener but is it really?

And it doesn’t sound like you’re over it at all.

I met my Scottish partner when he was working in Hong Kong. We met in a sauna, have group sex together. We met again several times in the same sauna and he gave me his contact. We started dating each other often though I know he has been having sex with other guys too - I don't mind. When he finished his work contract, I followed him.

I think you need lots of love - unconditional love.

Like my partner, he lied to me he was with a guy only for sex fun which I dont mind, BUT it was actually a romantic relationship. But the guy left him after after a few weeks of hot sex by making an excuse.

Yes, sometimes it is better to be on our own.

I met mine on Growlr.

He was married to a woman. We moved in together after 5 months and were married 6 years to the day when he died.

We were on here together. We had some great meets and also went to the occasional Bears day at the sauna.

There was no jealousy. We had rules and our marriage came first. It was the happiest, most honest relationship Ive ever had.

Unconditional love is a pipe dream I’m afraid. Equal love, transparency and honesty is what is required. No one person in a relationship is ‘better’ than the other. Compromise is key, you have to be willing to make changes, as should your partner.

When you have the above, a relationship or marriage should thrive. Many years married, unlikely it will happen again as the bar is so high now I don’t think it will be attainable again.

👍❤️

Most of the most stable, honest and satisfied relationships I know have been exactly like this.

My partner and my domestic life with him always comes first. After that, we play together with others, we play apart etc. No jealousy. Complete transparency.

I'm not exactly "looking" for anything long term, however, I'm more than open to the idea if the situation presented itself. Until then I'll just keep going as I am and arrange the first shag, that is of course how most of these things start.

In comparison with how many same sex marriages in the same period? In comparison with how many heterosexual divorces in the same period? Random statistics are meaningless without a proper context in which to analyse them.

What was the point of you relating this useless information?

"1298 same sex divorces in UK in 2022, of which 67% were female couples

"

As of 2022, same-sex marriage had been legal in England and Wales since 2014, in Scotland since 2014, and in Northern Ireland since 2020.

By the end of 2022, over 71,000 same-sex marriages had taken place across the UK (cumulative since legalization).

So 1,298 divorces out of 71,000 marriages represents about 1.8% of all same-sex marriages — a fairly small proportion in total.

There were 239,097 opposite-sex marriages in 2022, which was 12.2% more than in 2019.

There were 78,759 opposite-sex divorces in 2022. This represented a 29.6% decrease from 2021.

Opposite-sex divorces in 2022 were at their lowest level since 1971, a notable drop likely influenced by changes such as the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act (2020), which introduced mandatory waiting periods and the option for joint applications.

Since same-sex marriages began, female same-sex couples have consistently accounted for a higher proportion of same-sex divorces.

In 2021, 65% of same-sex divorces were female couples. In 2020, it was also around 70%.

Some social researchers and studies suggest:

-Lesbian couples tend to enter and exit relationships more quickly than gay male couples.

-Different relationship dynamics, emotional intimacy levels, and societal pressures may play roles.

-Greater willingness to seek help or make changes, including divorce, has also been suggested among women.

Only a thought with no stats to back it up, but doesnt it seem more often it is the woman who goes for divorce rather thn the partner whether its same sex or hetro. That leads to the question why?

"Unreasonable behaviour" is by far the most significant factor. Covers a multitude of factors, although adultery and desertion are separated out as causes.

Being on this site could play a part in a happy marriage. So I'd say, yes. It's possible.
