Most old guys, when I was younger, had an allotment, with a log burner stove in, as there was no electricity or gas, back then, so allowed them to escape the house, and wife.

Walking, for mental and physical health, that will give you a chance to shower when you return but may raise an issue if you shower before, guys like a fresh partner.

Hobby, men's shed, book club, car meet, buying stuff on marketplace locally, meeting others with the same hobby. Get on a committee for some project or club locally.

If you just sit down with your wife and watch shit on the telly and have done for years, it's going to take a while for that habit to change, you may have to encourage her to get a hobby as well. This isn't a short term thing, it will take time before you have a legitimate reason to be out for the evening.
