Can't say I'm a huge fan of the style but Brian Setzer is an incredible guitar player and he stands on the shoulders of giants: James Burton etc.

One you may not know as he's passed now, but Micky Gee from Cardiff was a brilliant player I was lucky enough to see live on our little pub circuit in the 80s. You'd swear he was about to set fire to his Telecaster with the intensity of his playing. He also contributed most of the surprisingly authentic lead breaks on Shakin Stevens' hits and was a regular sideman to Dave Edmunds, as well as an early member of Tom Jones' band. A youngish guy called James Oliver has picked up the baton and is also blisteringly good.

Being into punk..I absolutely hated it..cos I was a narrow minded cunt back then..😸.it took me ages to actually get into it though...it came through listening to psychobilly really... over the last few years I've picked up loads of rockabilly compilation CDs....

Funny enough I was the same, would only listen to rockabilly but looking back there was some great music in other genres.

Mind you there was some cross over with rockabilly and punk with punk bands covering some rock n roll classics
