I saw a couple of photos from a September 11 remembrance event where his face was drooping significantly. He's also recently been filmed struggling to walk down ramps or raise a drinking glass, as well as being diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, after signs of bruising on both hands and swollen ankles were observed on multiple occasions. He regularly rambles incoherently and struggles to complete sentences and to stay awake, not to mention wandering off on surreal tangents.

Is it time for him to shuffle offstage?

I hear they're reviving Bagpuss, so still plenty of time for the current puppet (as long as he does as he's told!).

Maybe all this anti-Trump hatred that we witness on a daily basis from various sources is exactly the sort of incitement to violence that led to the murder of Charlie Kirk?

The only thing with JD Vance is, he comes across as a weird suit. He isn't charming or funny. He is sort of menacing or angry. I don't think he could hold onto a movement like trump. He struggled to win Ohio which had been R for years in his one election.

I can live with him not agreeing with my sexuality.

I find it hard to accept left wing hypocrisy.

If a right wing person expresses a view, they are immediately branded a fascist and told their views will lead to violence.

If left-wingers constantly voice their views and these views incitement violence against a right-wing politician, there isn't even an ounce of self-reflection.

Two tier hate crime.

Honestly he seems to be deteriorating very quickly. The problem is going to be that when he passes, the entirety of his fan base will splinter. Half of them can't stand Vance, who has no substantial pull with them. Say what you want about Trump, and believe me I have a long, long list of gripes regarding him, but he at least had the charisma to build the Maga fanbase. Vance doesn't. Its going to be a hot mess.

One of those "You" problems.

If a right wing person expresses a view, they are immediately branded a fascist and told their views will lead to violence.

To be fair, right-wingers' expressed views are often fascist and often lead to violence.

If left-wingers constantly voice their views and these views incitement violence against a right-wing politician, there isn't even an ounce of self-reflection.

Fair point on lefties not being keen on right-wingers, but that is sort of how things are. Free speech, and all that.

Kirk wasn't a politician, but tragic (for you) that his shooter is, well... sort of a bit standard MAGA nutter and maybe even a tad right-wingish

Two tier hate crime."

It suits tRump and his toadies to spin that narrative as a preparation for the fascist persecution of everyone they don't like that is currently in progress.

What's happening now is what they hoped would happen after that ludicrous stunt of the fake "assassination" attempt on Donnie the Orange Fart. That fizzled out because Donnie didn't want to pay the price - to be a martyr, you need to be dead - so Kirk's shooting is very convenient for them.

If at first you don't succeed, and all that ... The MAGAts are probably producing their own version of the Horst Wessel Lied in his memory.

Ariana Grande, someone who's previously been off my radar (unsurprisingly ) posted an Instagram story, circulated from podcaster Matt Bernstein which read:

i want to check in with trump voters.

i have one very genuine question.

it’s been 250 days.

now that immigrants have been violently torn from their families and communities have been destroyed, now that trans people have been blamed for virtually everything and live in fear, now that free speech is on the brink of collapse for us all ― has your life gotten better?

* have your groceries gotten cheaper?

* has your health insurance premium gone down?

* has your work/life balance improved?

* can you take a vacation yet?

* are you happier?

* has the widespread suffering of others paid off for you in the way he promised it would, or are you still waiting?

In June, she shared a pic of a protest sign which read, "Could someone explain which crimes get you deported and which ones get you elected President? It's so confusing."

He's also recently been filmed struggling to walk down ramps or raise a drinking glass, as well as being diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, after signs of bruising on both hands and swollen ankles were observed on multiple occasions. Because they both love the size of the majority they almost always get when they win. If we had PR they'd have to start doing the job they're paid for: negotiation, seeking consensus, acting like politicians do, rather than just consisting of two mobs braying at each other.

Disgusting as Trump is, I don't think he's the prime mover. For that, look into the shadows of the Republican Party, and probably abroad, from there.. Trump is an easily manipulatable puppet, who is well known to believe whatever the last person who spoke to him said. He will literally do anything for money, and has a three-year-old's desire for attention. Presidential material? The exact reverse. He's a useful idiot, who, so far, has sterred attention away from the vested interests who projected him into power.

Nobody can defend outrageous attempts to cancel free & fair elections, the very fabric of any democracy.

Starmer U-turned because he had to or else be admonished by the High Court & humiliated.

But Starmer has form, look at his desperate attempts to ignore the Brexit vote, he tried all ways and every ways to deny the will of the people.

For that one reason alone I was never going to vote for him.

Dictators of the past often don’t succeed in their first attempts, or even more attempts, to overthrow democracy.

They chip away at it, which is exactly what Starmer is doing.

His time has not yet ended as PM so I’ll reserve opinion if he is the worst PM ever.

But he is definitely the most dangerous.
