Regardless of the tragic end result, I still don't get mummy and daddy leaving a 3 year old child to go out for an evening meal. Why not take your child with you?

Why would a German citizen talk to the UK police about a crime that happened in Portugal.

Yes, suspect this would have been a very different story if the parents were Dave (a tyre fitter) and Sharon (works checkout in Tesco), instead of Doctor Gerry and Doctor Kate.

I think they just want the case solved so he fits the bill. I'm not at all convinced he's the culprit.

💯. But that's common sense to us, not doctors apparently.

Yes, lots of speculation... and possibly lots of people telling porkies...! With modern drugs in combination with modern lie detectors it is very difficult not to tell the truth! It appears that the main suspects have refused to take these tests! Hmmm... it makes you wonder why? Uman rites you know. Christian B should have been forced to take the test while in custody for other serious crimes! He was living in Portugal at the time of Madileanes disappearance!

Yep, I agree, a little OTT with the Calpol and then they had no way back. After that, too far in it and have brazened it out from day one.

I never understood why they did it - no way I’d leave young children alone to go and have a meal

Back in. The 70s Clement Freud did TV adverts for dog food called Minced Morsels. I loved those adverts

"Why would a German citizen talk to the UK police about a crime that happened in Portugal.

Because the crime was committed against a British citizen. No matter where the crime was committed and by which nationality. We can expect the help and protection of the British government as stated on our passport.

Jurisdictional overreach. Same reason that "smash the gangs" was doomed to fail.

To me her parents are the real criminals.

How they wouldn't go back to Portugal without a promise of not getting prosecuted.

One rule for professional people and another for the rest of us

It was just that when a boy Ben Needham went missing in , I believe Greece initially press and police interest then nothing until years later when a local said he knew the child had died at a construction area , though searched nothing was found except a toy thought to have belonged to the child but again interest died

Correct - the line was “Henry hasn’t had his minced morsels.”
