It's today. First day of Autumn but feels quite wintry. Looked out in horror first thing to see mine, and the other cars in the street, glistening with the first frost!

Same! I work from my conservatory and opening bedroom curtains saw the same glisten on roof! ❄️

It was definitely colder overnight, a lil bit of condensation on the windows this morning.

It's my favourite season. Chilli mornings and evenings, but still warm during the day. When I am out on my motorbike, I can smell the autumn leaves and freshly toiled fields. The occasional wood fire on colder days. The welcoming smell of robust hearty meals and the night drawing in sooner with spectacular amber sunsets.

That should be followed by a little flutter of a Jethro tull flute, rolling into a fine song about our countryside and the old ways. ..... Lovely.

When I read that I can't stop the guitar riff in my head. 🎸

"Sitting on a park bench..."

... and soon enough the flowers will bloom like madness in the spring.

Eternal optimist me.

Roll on the 21st December, I dread the shortening days, whatever I try to alleviate the symptoms, my mood still plummets. Not helped either by the sudden leap into even longer nights come the end of next month.

But Autumn’s paintbox that adorns the woodlands and hedgerows, the crunch of frost underfoot , running through the fallen leafs and listening to the crackle of an open fire as you sip a mug of hot chocolate following a bracing Sunday afternoon walk , has its beauty.

Was in a town today where there is a Morrisons. Still by far my favourite supermarket even if they've gone a bit pricey. Pumpkins of various sizes everywhere and mince pies. Tried some pumpkin pie once. Absolutely disgusting.
