In 2011-12 season Rangers entered administration and the company was liquidated. They were then given associate membership of the Scottish Football league and were allowed into the fourth tier of Scottish football. So originally founded in 1872 they ceased to exist in 2011-12 season, hence the name from Celtic supporters and other for being resurrected, "The Zombies" Finally the best of bad luck to them | |||

"Why were they liquidated" Long story The club owed millions to HM Revenue and Customs and were unable to resolve this. They went into administration but failed to stop the Revenue from placing them into liquidation. There were many dodgy deals in order to avoid tax Sevco took over the assets of Rangers then changed the name back to Rangers The company called Sevco is now used as a derogatory name by rival fans along with the name "Zombies" due to their resurrection. In fairness to the Rangers fans who enjoyed great success during the nine in a row league wins , the fans enjoyed watching top class players like Graham Souness( player manager), Paul Gascoigne, Brian Laudrup,Ronald de Boer, Tore Andre Flo, Mo Johnston ( traitor and turncoat),Terry Butcher. Chris Woods, Ray Wilkins, Gary Stevens Trevor Steven, Mark Hately and many more. It's easy to see why they overspent | |||
