So everybody thinks it was just Bodie and Doyle looking hard and crashing Capris while Cowley was just the quiet henpecked boss.

Well that was not the case. Bodie and Doyle were big bear Cowley's twinks. I don't really remember anything about The XYY Man except that Stephen Yardley was almost stereotypically typecast as a bit of rough trade, slightly villainous and dangerous but the man to get the dirty jobs done. There was this one line that stuck in my head where he's explaining his additional Y chromosome and naughty tendencies to some bird (dolly bird probably, it was the 1970s) and she says "does that mean you're bisexual then?" I thought as an impressionable 14 year old that that was some incredibly racy dialogue.

(The theory on the extra chromosome causing criminal tendencies or hypermasculinity is now completely debunked by the way).
