Bristol

Every time something new happens;

Low traffic neighbourhoods

ID cards

electric cars

Local town planning regulations trying to ensure all services are within a 15 minute walk

Solar panels on roofs

Smart meters

Heat pumps

Photographic Driving Licenses

Biometric Passports

Electronic billboards

A new life saving vaccine

An old life saving vaccine

Chip and pin cards

Contactless cards

3G

4G

5G

Getting your wages directly into your bank account not in an envelope

PAYE

(The list goes on)

The same folks tell us that this is the last nail in the coffin of a free world and we will all be serfs under the heel of (insert bogeyman here)

Yet time and time again it’s not true.

But every time they are absolutely convinced and “they have technical knowledge in that field” which proves that it’s inevitable.

Then lo… life goes on pretty much unabated

How many times have they got to be wrong before they realise it’s not a big conspiracy to keep us all penned in our living rooms like horses in a box?

It must be gutting that none of their much vaunted dystopia ever comes to fruition.

There was a thing years ago about mobile phone masts and cancer. That seems to have died a death. Or maybe all those living within the cancer making phone mast waves have all died

We forever look back to a fabled golden age that never actually existed ... While instilled with a creeping dread of what comes next. That sensation of standing on the edge of a crumbling precipice.

Just part of the human condition really.

From the Doomsday Clock (now 89 seconds before midnight apparently) ... To dire warnings from the great and the good that there is only 2-5 years to save the planet from irreversible & catastrophic climate change.

Then there's the seemingly unstoppable march of AI ...

There's always something around to give us the fear, if you let it get to you.

Do you live near a 5G mast?

Do you recall the awful Milkenium bug, where all computers would stop working, banks would cease to function and aircraft would fall out of the sky because they didn’t know what day it was?

To be fair, I absolutely get that, I had 4 days off last week and by Wednesday had no idea what day it was.

People see politician’s behaviour during and since covid has as an indication of how they want to corrall the public into behaving and thinking a particular way.

This is all well and good mocking people who are suspicious but let’s not forget some people are still against the census. And let’s not forget Hitler used the census to establish where Jews lived. So any information harvesting on the public should rightly be treated with suspicion.

Tony Blair is not an elected leader yet he pushed for this for decades. That trail leads to his son and his company being involved with the digital ID system. Then there’s Blair’s association with an American tech billionaire who is seemingly obsessed with harvesting peoples data also being involved.

Now today it’s been announced Blair is to be Governor of Gaza. He’s involved in the Middle East again yet his involvement before was a disaster and he was proved a liar.

Can you understand why people are suspicious?

No, because these are not connected arguments.

For a period it was made in Manchester, but I think that calumny has been addressed.

It’s a shame you can’t see the truth. You have your opinion but I respectfully disagree.

What is it that you see as the truth that I am missing? I’m not trying to argue for no reason, I simply cannot see your point.
