You guys had it. Wonder why NHS doesn't open it to everyone and is selective.

What! Why do you ask such a question. You think everyone needs the jab and the nhs is a bottomless pit of money.

Unbelievable people think they so entitled!

Because they did a cost benefit analysis and given the limited amount of money they have to spend they prioritise the most vulnerable. Spending money on flu jabs for people in their 20s (which doesn’t give much medical benefit) means less money for other more urgent things. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has the jobs of figuring priorities given what things costs.

Thank God for common Sense. I'm 20 years older than the OP, and respect the age limits of jabs and reasoning. But I don't feel entitled.

It should also be noted that SOME employers offer their employees flu jabs (or vouchers to get them) so it is possible that many more people will be getting them. The rationale from the employers point of view is if it prevents employees from getting flu it prevents (or reduces) the impact to the business by having staff off sick.

I had mine Saturday past and I still feel crap, last year I had flu and COVID jags. They had changed the COVID vaccine but assured me it was fine. Well that was in the November and I felt shit for weeks. It seemed to get worse and by the time December 27th came I was rushed into hosp. with a suspected heart attack which turned out to be plurisy . I took it to be the change in COVID vaccine but how I feel now I'm wondering if it's the flu Jag as I feel crap and didn't have the COVID jag

If they ask me to go for one I'll go. I trust the NHS! They couldn't have done my job, so why should I tell them who needs it and who doesn't

I usually get both in the same appointment and haven’t had an issue, they do one in either arm so of there is an adverse reaction they know which one was the cause. I’ve not had any issues.

As an asthmatic I get a free flu jab every year. Apart from an uncomfortable arm for 24 hours no side effects and more importantly no flu.

They should prioritise the young because they're the first to beg off work with a sniffle while us boomers keep showing up even when we're half dead
