Young gay guy at work. Love to meet with him but people think I'm straight. Told me today people think he's flirting with me. How can I take it further. He's so hot

If you want work mates to continue believing you’re straight don’t play with the young guy.

Stay with hookups on here.

There is an old saying “Don’t shit on your own doorstep”

You are at work employed to do a job. Trying to start anything in your workplace is asking for trouble these days and could end up with you losing your job.

Unless you are prepared to suffer the consequences, I’d say “leave it alone”.

Can’t think of anything worse than being hit on by a coworker who thinks I’m flirting with him just because I’m gay and I’m friendly

Not everyone who gives positive attention wants to have sex.

Yes that would make me feel uncomfortable and so awkward were anything to happen between us. As someone said stones and glass houses

Offshore now, ignore pistcode

That’s the problem of being on Fab too much. It’s easy to slide into the mindset that everyone is after random gay sex and it gets encouraged by some of the nonsense propagated here.

Nobody mentioned stones and glass houses.

They did mention shit and doorstep. Are you mixing them up?

Perhaps don’t shit on the stones or don’t have a glass doorstep could become new sayings

This, plus the consumption of porn. Maybe the new worker is just being friendly, doesn’t mean he wants to have sex, neither does the plumber that comes to your house, the pizza delivery man, etc.

Just be normal

Really? Think about what happened with Philip Schofield. Yes, it was at the extreme end of the scale and very public, but if you don’t think that such things happen in other workplaces and have similar consequences - just less public but just as damaging then carry on if you are prepared to risk everything.

I see you wear a wedding ring (not judging) how worried would you be if you were outed?

I’d want to know more about how discrete he might be or when in the office on a Monday morning, does he tell everyone everything?

The last thing you need is him getting pissed at the Christmas party and saying something to people

if you think he's flirting. Be honest, and don't take it to heart if he declines.

He’s new at work? Probably just trying to be friendly. Leave it, I’d say. You might be misinterpreting his signals (if any).

I've got a work colleague who's similar age to me and flirts outrageously (with everyone, although he seems to lay it on thick with me as I'm kind of the new guy, been there since May).

All done in a rather George Melly, intellectually banterific way, and I rather suspect him of being a Dom.

That said, I flirt back as well but am not really interested in a workplace romance; those rarely go well. Keeping it as light-hearted fun makes more sense.

Unless he appears on here or such other site or app, looks at your profile and either messages or shows interest, do nothing and just maintain the friendly co-worker dynamic.
