Sometimes only a 12" extended mix will get the club rocking

12 inch Long Player is the best.

It lasts 20 minutes. Then after a short break to turn over it can go for another 20

One of the lads in the little group I hung around with in my teens was Peter McNeish, aka Pete Shelley. I still have my 7" vinyl of "Ever Fallen In Love".

I collect music of all forms.

Lots of vinyl (singles, 12 inch singles and albums) cds, shellac, tapes.

Loads of different genres, from classical through to drill, and lots in between.

Probably about 40,000 songs in total.

But I’m sadly not near London

In the late 60's none of us considered ourselves bi, but larked about as teenagers do. There were about eight of us in a friend's house and one of the lads lay on a bed with jeans and underwear down to his knees, I got on top with jeans and underwear similarly down and was dry humping him. Pete walked in, called us a bunch of queers, and went back to another room. We found it amusing when he came out as bi a few years later.

I collect vinyl, I’ve got around 750 albums and 12 inch. It’s an immersive hobby and you can lose yourself in it.

I lived in Leigh, so the only youth club I remember in Atherton was Briarcroft, adjacent to the cemetery.

"Thats the one

The building was built as Briarcroft Hall in the 1870's, and was home to the Fletcher family who were local mine owners. It was gifted to Atherton Collieries Association in 1921, used as a boys club, then youth club, and finally demolished in the 1990's. One of my friends is a direct descendant of the Fletcher family.
