" In the late 60's none of us considered ourselves bi, but larked about as teenagers do. There were about eight of us in a friend's house and one of the lads lay on a bed with jeans and underwear down to his knees, I got on top with jeans and underwear similarly down and was dry humping him. Pete walked in, called us a bunch of queers, and went back to another room. We found it amusing when he came out as bi a few years later.

"Thats the one Had a big stage ,think it was our 2nd gig ,about 20 kids there lol ." The building was built as Briarcroft Hall in the 1870's, and was home to the Fletcher family who were local mine owners. It was gifted to Atherton Collieries Association in 1921, used as a boys club, then youth club, and finally demolished in the 1990's. One of my friends is a direct descendant of the Fletcher family.
