Not necessarily. But, ya, generally.

In my case, my post orgasm guilt did go away when I explored it through therapy and mostly by talking to other men.

These forums also helped me initially, many years ago. Because knowing that other men thought the same as me, had similar fantasies, experiences etc. It made me less judgemental on myself I suppose. The funny thing about that is, even back then, I wouldn't judge someone else but I did judge me .

The sense of self and the subconscious mind can be quite complex.

My only regret is that I didn't speak to a professional earlier. I just didn't trust anyone enough to talk about it at the time. I'm glad I pushed myself. Best decision I ever made tbh.

I don't think that's accurate. Losing interest after cuming and wanting to move on , sure.

But, the shame thing is, imo opinion , psychological. I used to experience both feelings with random hookups and now I only feel one. And I never felt shame when I was hooking up with random women.

I think many people on this thread are confusing the refractory period, (which as you rightly suggest, we all experience), with shame, which only some people experience. They are two entirely different things. The OP was taking specifically about the latter. Feelings of guilt or shame would suggest an underlying psychological issue with the activity that brought those emotions to the surface, rather than a perfectly normal biological response to ejaculation.

I have encountered many men over the years who have experienced both guilt and shame after sex due to deeply held religious beliefs, family dynamics, lack of self worth etc. I have always had the upmost sympathy for anyone who experiences negative emotions after something that feels so perfectly natural to me.

I was fortunate enough to have come out very young in life, with no negative consequences at all, and have been indulging in filthy/kinky sex since I came out and started frequenting leather and s&m bars in London. I was mentored by some wonderful old leather men who made me feel proud of my kinks, rather than any shame. And to those chaps, I am eternally grateful.
