"What did he say"

He hates flags.

Especially lots of them.

Except when they were being waved when he was playing football.

Then it was ok.

He could tell they were being waved for the "right" reasons then.

In his defence he is a middle aged white man, so fair game for having a go at.

If you had a 15 year old daughter would you advise her to get in a lift with people you don't know late at night?

I certainly wouldn't.

Until you know people in your neighborhood, it makes sense to be cautious.

I agree about the whoever.

If we are in a time where there are mobile people then we need to exercise caution.

It doesn't matter so much where they are from.

I trust people in my neighborhood because of my experience.

The city council recently bought a very nice house nearby to house 2 young people who were County Lines kids.

Until they have been here a while I wouldn't go near them.

I am not a flag waver, but everyone is entitled to do what they wish, definitely.

If Neville wants to say something, then that's upto him, he's just a bloke at the end of the day...

I am definitely NOT against immigration, this country is built on immigrants, If it's about not letting criminals in or extremists, that I can abide, there has to be some criteria in place, without a doubt!

I can guarantee more or less everyone in this country is an immigrant in some respects.

but with regards to people feeling safe, I mean, look at the news since time began and it's never been totally safe...

I mean Elon Musk was at that rally, no one divides or sh1ts on us as much as mugs like that...

One love

That’s not what anyone is saying. Read what I wrote and point out where I called people who have pride in their country, racist?

What I said was that having a bit of pride is absolutely great to do. By why did no one think of doing it until people who were already racist little shits tell them to start doing it?

The issue is not the pride. It’s the reasons driving it, and those reasons were and are, in this instance, transparently racist and led by racist people for racist intentions.

The people doing the work in general aren’t racist, but they are being put to work by those who are and their national pride is being mobilised by the racists for their aims.

This is a very different thing.

He is targeting the very people who've paid his wages by going yo the matches he played in.

I've said this before but I'll say it again at the risk of being shot down in flames: If you are a sports star, sports personality, commentator, broadcaster, TV personality, actor etc etc then keep your political views to yourself. Otherwise you are bound to upset some of your fan base. Plus you will be a sitting target for the papers, media etc. If you want to go into politics later in life [Glenda Jackson, Seb Coe] that's fine. But retire first.

I don’t think anyone has said it is wrong to fly an English or a British flag.

I think people have said that it is wrong when it is being done so by people whose stated intentions are to make people in the country feel uncomfortable and to want to leave.

Most British people don’t seem to like that approach.

That I have seen most British people have no issue with flying their various flags for kind purposes, but the unkindness which feels inherent in the reasoning is what repels them.

Seems many don't get the difference between the Saint George flag and the Union flag, nor the disperate significance to different sectors of the population.

Flying one or the other to show support of sporting events, national celebrations, commemorations, mourning isn't being criticised.

Using them to promote a political agenda is the only use of them that is being criticised.

The widespread acceptance of the St George flags use in showing support for the England football team was a long journey of recovery from the impact of the BNP's misappropriate use of the flags, along with their chant 'aint no black in the union jack'

This latest trend is a regression to allowing valid national pride and patriotism to be hurt by bigotry.

Hiding behind claims of a sudden desire to display patriotism is disengenous and cowardly, there was no visibilty of these people and their flags on HM Forces day or other such 'patriotic' dates or national events.

If they want to be seen as credible, they need to admit what their specific use of it is signifying.

If they have the balls to admit that they will at least get some respect for their honesty, if nothing else.

Currently they just portaying themselves as bigoted fake patriots and making themselves look foolish.

If someone is truly a nationalist, there is no need for such clownish antics as hanging a hundred flags around your house. Do you really think you are superior to others? A genuine nationalist does not engage in these foolish behaviors. To witness true nationalism, one must observe it in the battlefield; what he said was those flags are more for showing to foreigners rather than being proud of their country so he spot on .

A national flag represents a nation as a whole.

No political party or view represents the nation as a whole.

Using it to represent a political view is misuse of that nations flag.

Regarding Ukraine and Palestine, flying another nations flag showing sympathy to that nation in times of crisis is a well established practice.

"Realmeetseeker from Stevenage, says i am a "You’re a brainless, cowardly moron."

Hidden profile via personal message. Why he got his union jack crocs in such a twist is beyond me."

He said something similar to me in my inbox then blocked me. Add his insult to the forum and got reprimanded by the mods.

"He’s spot on.

And wanker Farage is the main culprit

Plus Tommy Robinson and all the other thinly veiled racists. "

If you listen to Robinson, not what the media say he said he's not racist. It surprised me and I didn't like him. He's still a dick.

"Honestly I think they're all up their own asses. The lot of them. The only ones who are decent I reckon is Rio Ferdinand and the English woman forgot her name. Blonde footballer who does that show with Keane, wright. The rest are a bunch of twats. Met Michael Owen in real life. He came across as a right cunt "

Rio Ferdinand? Decent? Haha. Have a word with yourself

Tommy Robinson isn’t racist? Really?

Described a Muslim woman having a baby as planting a time bomb?

Tommy Robinson: “You’re pretty fit for a Muslim girl”

Muslim Girl: “I’m 15 and you got the cheek to call Muslims p***os?”

Many more which I won’t post in case our friends decide to report me for blatantly racist language.

Tommy Robinson isn’t racist??? Give me a break.

He is a fucking disgrace.

"He's a middle aged white man blaming middle aged white men. The same middle aged white men who pay for Sky and keep him in a job. As ever he is out of touch with the real world. Don't you love millionaire ex footballers telling you what you should think. "

He didn't try to tell you what to think, he said what he thinks.

Its called free speech.

Get over it.

If you read his tweets, it’s pretty clear he is racist.

Don't be nieve or treat others like they're stupid. Most don't care what he thinks, his opinion is the same as jo blogs. But he knows it isn't. There lies your simplistic free speak cliche.

I'm not treating anyone like they're stupid, just pointing out how many people are overly wound up by someone else's opinion.

It's all rather pathetic as they are always the people who claim there is no free speech.
