Question about electric/hybrid cars

I have recently had a hybrid car on hire for a few weeks and it has quite heavy regenerative braking (without me touching the brake pedal). I know some electric cars have one foot driving and it led me to wonder - does the car still activate the brake lights? I’m curious whether drivers behind me will know the car is braking, even though I’m not touching the pedal.

Does anybody know? Obviously not something I can see for myself 😆

That must take quite a bit of learning - the one foot driving

At night lift foot off throttle and you see the lights in rear view.

Youd be surprised how quickly it becomes second nature. I had to drive a friend’s ICE car recently and as i sat in the drivers seat I said out loud “brakes!” He said “what about them” i told him i was just reminding myself you have to use them in this car as im so used to not having to. He looked terrified for the rest of the drive 😂

I got a new car in August and one of the things it has is this one foot accelerator/brake. Can't get used to it only used it a couple of times.
