North London (outer)

First round proper this weekend and plenty of non-league sides still left in. It's always nice to see a few upsets and for them to progress to the third round, when the big boys step in.

Wrexham 3-3 Forest aet

Wrexham win 4-3 on penalties.

Great start to R3 for Wrexham and neutrals. Really enjoyed watching that.

It's also the FA trophy 🏆 (last 32 teams,) Clitheroe and Leatherhead are the 2 lowest ranked team still left (step 4 ) Eastleigh Vs Southport should be a good game

love the cup, not what it used to be with the amount of football on telly nowadays but it's still iconic.

I enjoyed it as well. Wrexham still have a lot of focus on them as well with their meteoric rise from non-league.

Shame they have got rid of replays and its extra time and penalties now. Used to make smaller clubs some good money if getting a replay against a bigger club.

The North is by far the best when it comes to football 😉

Thought Spurs were like a championship team on their big day out, full of venom and mistimed tackles with their “hard man” told to kick lumps out of the shiny prem stars - they were rather embarrassing really.

Well done to Macclesfield too, the magic of the cup is still there

Even longer for Bournemouth fans. Especially losing on pens. Very tough.

Does anyone really care about the FA Cup anymore beyond the BBC trying to overplay it's importance, because it's their only real avenue to show live football between PL Teams.

I think Palace fans did last season

Generally fans still want their team to win it and fans of clubs from lower levels dream of a giant killing.

So the answer is probably YES.

I do, and I really enjoyed Wrexham v Forest on Friday, Macclesfield v Crystal Palace yesterday and Derby County v Leeds United today.

All really entertaining games, with West Ham v QPR next at 2:30.

Man Utd dumped out of the cup at home to Brighton. Promising teenage substitute is red-carded. They're going from worse to far worse.

It was good to get through a game smiling, there hasn’t been a lot of that here this season. Although we are unbeaten in 2026 still !!
