The Catholic Church doesn't really an influence the people of Ireland anymore. In 2015 Ireland became the first country to legalise same-sex marriage through a public referendum.

However, like any country, there are homophobic idiots who are really just insecure about their own sexuality.

Thank you. Is Dublin a nice place for a relaxing short break, fun including the tranquil retreats in the monasteries?

Your first post asked about the “Dublin gay sex scenes” but now you’re asking about “tranquil retreats in monasteries”…

Yes retreats are available some tranquil , some not so.

And there is also a thriving sex scene, though casual sex with married bi sexual men is frowned upon if wives not aware, probably more so than here in UK.

And as a previous poster mentioned there is a level of redneck testosterone in parts where the fact your gay (or standing out for any other reason), can make you a target and justification for violence.

It's less common now perhaps but random fights where someone attacks a guy for no reason on a Friday night are similar to poor parts of urban Britain, and an order of magnitude greater than sexual assault.

You mentioned about the Catholic Church. Besides fun are there any Catholic monasteries still operating for a tranquil retreat after fun? Thank you.
