Imo what an absolute amazing effort in raising 7.6 million for children in need.

Hats off to her big time!

Haven't really been following it but she does seem to have transitioned from 90s ladette to national treasure pretty well. I sometimes tune in to her drive time show and she's one of the few BBC northerners I can stand to listen to.

Absolutely amazing, I won’t hide from the fact I’ve shed a few tears this week.

Listening to children talking about their grief, knowing how difficult it is dealing with it as an adult.

Surely it has to be Dame Sara Cox

Am absolutely in awe of what she's done. One marathon is hard enough but to do 5 is just amazing. And love listening to her show, warm, friendly, cracking lass.

Let's not deviate from the point of the thread....she's doing a fantastic, almost heroic, job of raising a helluva lot of funds for a very good cause. All power to her. It's all I can do to run across the road.

Yeah, and Sara is bound to have doubled that amount by the time they reveal her new total on the TV show tonight. She's an absolute superstar.

The salary for the CEO of BBC Children in Need is £154,044!! That's just one salary. How many donations is that before it even starts to count. Don't think for one moment the BBC gives a shit.

I just hope that after all that effort that all the money raised goes to worthy causes and isn't lost in 'administration'.

You need some people running the division full time. 154k for a CEO to organise something as massive as Children in Need is nothing compared to other areas.

I've got friends who work for the BBC and whilst the CEO is paid, the majority of the crew work for free on the shows for Children in Need.

Offshore now, ignore pistcode

I just love the good sides of the British people. We can do amazing things, we have huge hearts, we care and we try to be fair. I wish we could celebrate more of this - we have to get over the self-loathing cynicism and enjoy our good selves. She reflects the best side of our humanity

I also know a few CEOs of charities and they are paid way more than the BBC CEO.
