Rawcliffe Bridge.

After my partner (male) died I was incredibly lonely, but I was always a musician, keyboards, and I used to play when at a low point, and at my lowest I couldn't play, so I listened to music.

This is still true to this day.

Chronically lonely and depressed for a very long time now..just never realised it. Always said I'm content alone, but turns out content is not happy. It snuck up on me and now I m in quite a mess. Hope you feel better soon and you catch it early and rise above it xx

Sadness and loneliness are a scourge. Sadly men are more likely to suffer in silence.

My advice would be to find someone to talk to, or even talk at. Tell them beforehand that you need a sympathetic ear, and tell them you don’t need them to solve your problems, just to listen and empathise.

You could pay a psychologist, you could call your bff. There are phone lines you can call to get support.

I’m not saying you are, but sometimes loneliness can lead to some very dark places. It’s really good you have realised you’re having a bad time, that’s the first step in moving ahead.

Totally agree with the above, it's solid advice and should be heeded. If you let silence and loneliness in for too long, they will eat you up.

I do feel lonely at times

I love going on holiday as a soo traveller, I usually go to Gran Canaria, a gay resort, I do feel envious when I see all the guys with their partners

I just try to keep my mind active

Lost my partner earlier this year and I do find it lonely, still suffering from bouts of grief which creeps up on me. I find it hard to cope at times but manage to get through it. I have a good circle of friends which helps tremendously but it's closing the door at night and the loneliness seeps in.

This time of year can be incredibly hard, bringing back memories etc, and adverts full of family festivities promoting a perfect Christmas which never happens in reality. I get involved in local volunteer groups and get to understand there's always someone worse off than myself

Loneliness comes on many forms. You can have a living family and friends but still feel lonely.

It does look creep up on you and it does lead to dark places.

Do they to rise above it Nd you will find a brighter place but it takes time.

Wishing everyone all the very best xxx

I feel very sad for anyone that is genuinely lonely.

I’m very fortunate that I am happy with my own company these days, and actually wish I could get more time on my own.

However that hasn’t always been the case, so I know how heavily loneliness can weigh on you.
