"Hi guys I really need some advise. My fwb for years tested positive for gonoreah. I seem him last weeks on twice occasions.. I had anal and oral both with him. He is married and active with Mrs. So I am I. I think I might have got it too. I had sex with Mrs on Sunday(I didn't cum in her) I can go to clinic and get treated. But what about wife? No idea what to do. Is there any out there been in same situation? Been looking online I can get treatment. Give her somehow . Please help.." First things first, get to the clinic and get yourself tested. Depending on when last week it happened, you might be showing symptoms which can include discharge, and burning when peeing. If the test is negative breath a big sigh of relief and think yourself lucky. If it is positive, you are going to need treatment. You’ll have to tell her because she will need testing and if infected treatment as well. No sex until you are both clear otherwise you will end up reinfecting each other. Remember there are some nasty versions of it that have become resistant to antibiotics

"I caught something just by getting oral a few weeks ago, 3 weeks to get rid of the infection. If the other person ain't clean, you ain't going near me." Gonorrhea is quite often asymptomatic, so the person has no symptoms and will often only know if they get tested. This is also true for Chlamydia and Syphillus. Many people are surprised to find they have a STI when they've not had any symptoms and had thought of themselves as 'clean'. Regular testing will pick these STIs up if you're unlucky enough to catch one and treatment for those three will be done by local clinics with complete discretion.

"Also if worst case scenario and test positive Maybe tell wife you went with a female sex worker As one off etc and caught it Maybe as damage limited exercise Chances of recovering from that probably greater than saying it was sex with male" this is your best bet, say it was a blow job and you couldn't resist trying it once with the lads. Gonorrhoea is rare from oral but plausible. be mortified and gutted how badly its backfired and she might forgive.

"Also if worst case scenario and test positive Maybe tell wife you went with a female sex worker As one off etc and caught it Maybe as damage limited exercise Chances of recovering from that probably greater than saying it was sex with male" I think that's potentially worse for the wife,at least a man isn't a direct alternative to her and hopefully after talking she's more likely to understand the attraction.

From the NHS https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/gonorrhoea/ Symptoms “usually” start around 2 weeks, but can start earlier OR months later. Link gives you symptoms and help to find your local sexual health clinic.

You need to talk to her very soon so that she can get tested. And remember NO SEX until you are both tested clear to avoid reinfecting yourselves. The longer you leave it the worse it will be especially if she starts showing symptoms. Also try avoid things like kissing the kids good night as there is a very small risk of passing it this way. Passionately kissing should definitely be avoided as a much higher risk.

So much rubbish talked on here " “If there are active infections in the throat, kissing could transmit the bacteria, particularly if there the infected person has cuts or sores,” says Dr Vinekar. Deep kissing, which involves exchange of saliva, may lead to gonorrhoea, as per research published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases in 2019. Another research published in the Sexually Transmitted Diseases journal in 2023 found that tongue kissing may be a risk factor for oral gonorrhea. While it is possible to contract this STI through kissing, the risk is generally lower than through other forms of sexual activity, such as vaginal or anal sex,” says the expert. So believe what YOU want, personally I’d say better safe than sorry. Oh and if you have infected saliva on your hand and rub your eyes, it is possible to get it in your eyes as well it would seem.

"It is entirely plausible (in purely logistical terms) for the OP to have received STI testing in the 3 hr window in which they went from their opening post to a secondary message informing us of their results. There are some places where you can do a walk-in (if you are very, very lucky) and be seen that quickly. I refer just to the taking of tests. So that aspect is not scientifically impossible. Though it does seem unlikely. (Given their stated reluctance, hesitancy and the fact they were canvassing opinions at the start of the thread, whether you find that a remotely plausible part of the story is another matter.) What then makes it clear we are dealing with an utterly fantasy situation is the claim they have received their results within 3 hours of the start of the thread. This is scientifically impossible. You can obtain certain DIY swabbing at home gonorrhoea testing kits that purport to give a result within an hour. These are not very reliable and often not used correctly. The OP didn’t start off with one, note, didn’t really have time to go and get one, and then *specifically states he is being booked into a clinic for injections*. No clinic is going to book you in for injections based on your own home testing: they would have to have performed the tests themselves. If you report to any public STI clinic in the UK stating you have symptoms of gonorrhoea or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for gonorrhoea, the clinic is duty bound to perform a full screening. This means oesophageal swabbing, rectal swabbing and urethral swabbing and/or urine sampling. Gonococcal cultures take a minimum of 1-2 days for the culture to develop to see any positive results. A lot of clinics send testing to an off-site laboratory such as the nearby hospital, and even if they have a lab in-house and start developing a gonococcal culture IMMEDIATELY the swabs left your bodily cavities, the supposed time-frame here is absurd. Any public STI clinic when it is aware you have had unprotected sex will naturally screen for the full gamut of infections. They are duty bound to do so. Some of these can take at least 3 days for cultures to be developed when done properly. A further factor in the story here being absurd. You can’t just rock up to a clinic and say “Clap swabs only and give me the 30 minutes turnaround!” It’s not Kodak Express. In summa, this is a load of cock and bull. Why anyone would want to elaborate this fantasy situation, I can only surmise. Why so many users have taken their time to write advice and sensible guidance about sexual health, I don’t know. Some of you are clearly filled with the milk of human kindness. At the same time some examples of advice above are questionable and some of the information misleading - certain statements categorically wrong. This is the problem about any discussion of health matters amongst random, anonymous profiles, whose motives could be highly questionable, on an unregulated public Forum. There is so much ignorance and embarrassment about sexual health that I suppose it must only be a good thing if people can reach out and ask stuff on FabGuys (better than not asking and potentially suffering or not addressing problems) but nearly every one of these threads leaves you with your head in your hands. Meaning that she needs to be told. Do you have issues with compression?" Lots of issues with compression. Occasionally issues with comprehension if things are not explained clearly. “She needs to be told” is the clearest way of indicating that you think she needs to be told. “She’s going to find out herself if you’ve got it and do not tell her” does not indicate in any way that you believe she needs to be told. "I have a true sti story to tack onto this that happened this week. I have a regularly guy I see for "fun" but we also hang out. He's been away travelling. I picked him up from the airport on sunday. He had a scab on his lip, he said he had cut himself shaving and it was healing slowly and that it was very embarassing because a few people have pointed it out to him. Anyway, a few days went by. We both had our sti tests done that week (coincidentally). I met him after my test on Wednesday because the hosp is near his apartment and I stayed over. His doc took a swab of his lip scab "just in case" and did the other usual tests. That night I was still a bit suspicious of his scab but he assured me he remembered cutting himself shaving. I decided to risk having fun and not wait for the results. We kissed and had oral sex, then went to sleep. The next day all his results came back negative, except ....he has herpes type 2 - on his face. So, lesson learned for me. Google was a bit useless tbh because I wanted to see if there was any advantage to taking the meds he has. I've done quite a bit of research on it now. It's very common and most people don't realise they have it as they are asymptomatic. Obviously, I would still rather not have it. But, apparently it can spread even with people who are asymptomatic. The doc gave him extra viral meds, I wasn't sure weather to take them or not as I have no symptoms but I eventually decided to take the course and started last night. At the end of the day, the only sure way to protect yourself from STI's is condoms. And I'm not using them for BJ's so, like everything else in life, it's a calculated risk I suppose. This is actually my first time ever being on someone's sexual contact list after an sti screening. It was a bit upsetting at first but it's my friend that feels terrible for exposing me to it. There's no guarantee that I contracted it anyway from one interaction. From what I've read online, I might already have it from decades ago anyway but I've never displayed symptoms. So, I've decided to not worry about it too much. Google did say to go to a doc but I don't see the point and it didn't explain why. It can't be cured, I have the viral meds and the tests for herpes are unreliable and pointless until about 15 weeks when antibodies show up in your blood. Thoughts ? Should I go " Well you need to remember that “cold sores” and herpes are both caused by the same virus family “cold sores” by the HSV-1 virus and Herpes by either the HSV-1 or HSV-2 virus, and as you have observed they can’t be cured, and they remain in the body for life. So if you have ever had a cold sore you probably already have the virus.

I've never had a cold sore but based on how common hsv1 is, I do probably already have it, but I've just never displayed symptoms. My fwb's apartment is around the corner from his clinic. I just did a walk in as they are open until 3pm (it's noon now). I just wanted to ask a question about the meds. The best they could do was give me a phone call on Monday which would cost me about $80 so I left. Usually its free but I haven't been to that clinic since I got my mpox vaccine a year ago. It's probably something to do with high demand of the service. I have a cousin in Sydney that I barely know lol. I'll send her an awkward voice message to find out
