Most unusual car you've owned?

I'm loving the car threads.

My most oddball one was an FX4 London taxi (old one with the Landrover diesel lump under the bonnet), bought cheap with about 220k on the clock as a stopgap while our peoplecarrier was getting some long and expensive engine surgery. My kids loved it and used to fight over who got the fold down jump seat.

I used to enjoy driving it in the rain playing Joe le Taxi very loudly and going past wet people trying to flag me down.

It was supposed to be a Sunbeam, bought from the Chrysler factory when they were closing down. It was made up of leftover parts.

When I had it serviced by a garage they didn’t recognise the engine and it took a lot to convince them that I hadn’t built it myself.

Many years ago a Daf 44 with the variomatic [?] gears that would go as fast in reverse as they would forward. Fun to drive but poor road handling in heavy rain.
