As a top who isnt that active, I use protection. Hate condoms but dont want to go on prep. My question is, who is in the bigger danger in unprotected sex? A top or bottom? Is is equal both ways, or is a bottom more likely to contract something nasty than a top?

Prep only protects the user of it from hiv. You are equally at risk of everything else. Your bttm taking prep does not protect you from the small risk to yourself if he's got a poz load in his arse already. Prep and regular testing is the way forward, for everyone.

Bottoms are statistically more susceptible to STIs but there is a risk to both parties.

Why put yourself at risk?

We're all risk takers. Its about degree of risk we are willing to tolerate, strategies to mitigate risk and remedy bad luck.

Bottoms most at risk of HIV, but most other STIs are close to equal transmission risk.

Why not go on event based prep? 2 tablets a few hours in advance of sex then 1 per day for 2 more days. So if you're only having occasional meets, you're not taking it all the time.
