Used to ddo a lot of pike fishing but the rivers are crap now and all the gravel pits are now syndicate run carp fisheries

That's carp fishing though (the new Cottaging) Pike fisherman don't normally (some do) spend days in a bivvy especially as most pike fishing is done in winter
