First time is always going to be nervy.

Have a plan. Go out with fellow TVs in a group. Stay at a friendly hotel.

I think it's the fear of the unknown which stops people.

I was so nervous first time around.

I understand what you mean.

I go out for a walk, not in short skirt and high heels, but woman's jeans, jumper and panties and bra underneath. I have a bit of makeup on, but nobody pay any attention, as I look like any other old lady.

that's it dress normal a d blend in it will build your confidence, even women that dress like tarts when in public get stared at maybe that's what they want ,but I'm guessing its not what you want x

There's a valid point here.

Having said that, so many real girls dress down nowadays even when going out.

Heels seem increasingly rare.

Well, sod it, I say. If I have bought those new heels and dress I darn well am going to wear them out
