23 years for that piece of shit that killed an 87 year old man for a box of cornflakes, a cottage pie and a sausage sandwich.

He should have been done away with.Life should mean life. I fear for older people's safety on these dark nights.

😢

I don't know what story this is, but I totally agree to attack an old person is utterly disgusting, and they don't deserve prison, they need ironing out end of

From the article on the BBC website “and he was absent from Friday’s sentencing hearing, claiming he had a back problem.”

Sounds like his back problem is he hasn’t got any backbone.

Absolutely shocking, the old man was very frail and only 9 stone in weight

Thats probably why the cowardly scumbag chose him as his victim

Llandrindod Wells

Just heard this on the lunchtime news. Don't normally agree with the death penalty but this creature sounds like a mad, rabid dog and should be put down.

"23 years"

To be fair the BBC Article I read did say that he was given a “Life sentence” and “has been jailed for a MINIMUM of 23 years”, he could still serve longer if he is a risk to the public. As he is 59 now that means even if he was released at the 23 year mark, he would then be 82 if he actually lives that long (I’m referring to natural causes BTW mods).

"...even if he was released at the 23 year mark, he would then be 82..."

Wouldn't it be ironic if he suffered the same fate at the hands of another mad dog human when he was released?

He will probably die in prison I don’t think many in jail reach 82.

I think if you don’t turn up for the sentence you should get the maximum.

It is a minimum of 23 years before he’s considered for parole. The perpetrator is 59 he’ll be 82 before he’s considered for release.

It seems reasonable to me.

Obviously I missed the bit about his age. I was thinking he may have been 19 or 29 tops. Not 59. There is a fair chance life will mean life for him.

He'll be getting a welcoming cup of sweet tea no doubt. Minimum term of 23 years and most likely be 💀 before then.

Prison isn't some luxury holiday camp some would have you believe it is when most haven't even seen the inside of a prison and certainly haven't experienced life as an inmate. I know 2 people that have been in and they've never been the same since.
