I’d of like to of seen more of ‘why’ if that makes sense?…

Just so people wanting to seek the whole sub/dom and learn about it. It doesn’t really do much explaining on that part but overall, great movie!

The film has picked up the Best UK indie award for 2025 plus 4 others - best screenwriter, hair-styles, makeup and fashion. I wonder if that colossal prosthetic penis came under 'makeup'.

The 'why' is the interesting question of the film, as it is of the novel (which is otherwise very different in important ways). Not knowing what makes Ray tick is a huge part of his fascination, and Colin is complicit in keeping it like that.

Did anyone else enjoy reading the film as an allegory of the UK's relationship with the US?

A good entertaining film. Loved the rimming in the woods, rubber apron, wrestling & ride-out scenes. All very real in my book.

Taking Ray's bike was very unbelievable though, totally wrong.

The heteronormatives on here, just like Colin's overbearing mother, just don't understand the man thing.🍄‍

Yes, there's a strong suggestion that Colin's mother's personality partly explains his, though that's a bit of a gay cliché and I don't recall it from the book.

Amazing that there's a mainstream film on at lots of the multiplexes that shows the mateyness of gay group sex!

Agreed. Though I did notice that the soulless multiplex I saw the film at, didn't have any posters nor advertising for Pillion.

It's still a closed/eted society.
