FabGuys.com forum: “You can’t view this profile”

Occasionally I click on a profile and see this:

You can't view this profile

This profile is not available for you to view.

This can be one of three things: User's account is suspended by admin, user has blocked you or you have blocked user.

Why the ambiguity?

Is it attempting to sugarcoat the hard truth that I’ve been blocked?

Or maybe admin is really strict

It tells you all you need to know ... But not necessarily all you want to know.

I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would want to block me

.... So automatically assume that it must be unviewable for one of the other two reasons.

It’s probably because they’ve hidden their profile in their privacy settings, some like myself occasionally prefer to hide my profile if I’m not going to be online for a while. So you probably weren’t blocked.

Move on and let it go. I'm blocked by loads on here, for reasons that could be anywhere between not liking my speaking up on my political views, or them being the twue gays for whom anybody wearing lingerie doesn't meet their standards, or any of a myriad other reasons. I couldn't give a fuck, and I only block people when they're utter pests or exhibit something so repulsive it turns me stomach.

If you try to message it will tell you if they have blocked you or you have blocked them. If they are hidden it says so and you can message.

Hidden is seperate though, is it not?

I’m not offended(/don’t care) I just wonder why the site algorithm gives you three options for why you can’t view the profile when surely it should be able to identify why.
