honest opinion is it's not worth the watch. potential interesting storyline, it's not hugely graphic visually. one very brief bellend shot of a probably fake cock. one orgy scene with brief ff nudity of side characters.

It fascinating that the film has so much explicit sex that is not primarily intended to be titillating, but to explore how the two men are relating to each other, including in an interesting group sex context. You feel so happy for them when the sex works really well.

It's also really good on how you can have very intimate interaction with someone over a period of time (it's more than five years in the novel), and yet in the end hardly know them. A bit like on here!

I saw it Thursday and parts of it I found disturbing but it was an excellent film.

Having been subjected to unconsensual submission it bought back unpleasant memories even though in the film it was consensual.

I've always been quite interested in BDSM. This went beyond my imagination of what that kind of relationship is about, to an extent that I found slightly uncomfortable. I found the conjunction between the Colin and Ray characters somewhat implausible. It didn't quite ring true, but I became so absorbed in the story and mesmerised by Alexander Skarsgård that I willingly suspended disbelief. A beautiful, intensely erotic movie.
