So glad I don't have up to 200 people to send cards to anymore.

The cost of the stamps I've used this year has been ridiculous.

If I was post office boss, I do a special Xmas stamp at half price to be used only on cards with cut off date.

However. I suppose would be difficult to set up.

Bah Humbug. 😂

Great idea , I have thought this would be a good idea too. Though the tradition of posting cards is disappearing, I still value and appreciate sending and receiving a chosen hand written card.

Good idea, wouldn't be that hard to set up with the new QR coded stamps

It would rely on people sending twice as many cards as they do now for the scheme to break even.

People have reduced the number of cards they send over the years. Halving the stamp cost is unlikely to entice them to double the number of cards they send since that also entails buying twice as many cards.

Earlier this week I bought some stamps. £20! Ridiculous. Posted the cards yesterday. So that's Christmas done and dusted.

I love sending and receiving cards. Some of the cards I receive from my gentlemen are very explicit and have nothing to do with Christmas!!

Stopped sending Christmas cards 3 years ago due to the exorbitant cost of stamp, I make a donation to charity instead of filling the post office coffers

I don’t send cards and I don’t feel obliged to give to charity either . I think people just say they do to make themselves feel better .

It’s my money and I’m keeping it .

Let the government help the charities . They are happy to use them like the RNLI As a taxi service for the unwanted visitors .

There are no pockets in shrouds and no shops at the crematorium

How do we know there are no shops in the afterlife?

Only ones I sent are to family overseas - US and Oz.

Do remember if you do send, write magical on the envelope and upload a pic of the envelope to the Royal Mail website.

It's your ticket into a £500k prize draw.

I used to support the RNLI and donate... but not anymore, they are doing so much damage by encouraging illegals to chance the channel knowing the RNLI will ferry them in. The RNLI adverts begging donations show them rescuing yaughties... what a cynical joke; its not what they do now with our donations!

At the post office on Monday I insisted on non-Christmas stamps much to the annoyance of the girl behind the counter [pulled a face and tutted] I have some left over and don't want to be putting them on letters or birthday cards in the summer

Didja know the majority of charitable funding for the RLNI comes from the Masons... 🤔

That’s an interesting theological conundrum. Would we need pounds sterling, euros or US dollars?

Used to send a hundred every year. Now it’s only to people I’ve not seen, and want to stay in touch with. I write a few lines as a catch up.

Me too. I give to charity and do some good with my money. If we all do it think of the power of combined effort, and the trees we would save too. Merry Christmas to you all xxx

Red Rose County

Last couple of years we haven’t sent any Christmas cards. Instead wishing people a happy Christmas online and donating the cost of stamps to a charity. First year a local hospice and last year a national charity.

We moved this year and sent a letter with our new details to all our friends and family. Then we sent everyone a Christmas card a month later. It’s flipping amazing how many people have moved and not had the courtesy to let us know. We’ve had letters returned, messages saying people are now in care homes. Some seem to have fallen of the face of the earth

So this year we have contributed a few hundred quid to Royal Mail’s profits. The people who have fallen off the face of the earth still seem to be active on social media. So I guess they haven’t fallen out either us.
