My wife knew a lady who’s daughter had fallen out with her

She was a widow in her 50’s and was going to be alone over Xmas

My kind hearted wife invited her to our place whereupon we all got stuffed on dinner retired to the living room and listened to her snoring for a few hours as she slept her dinner down

So an act of kindness that didn’t go wrong , worked out nicely.

Have any of you guys hosted a lonely person for Xmas dinner, would you ?

Yes, my wife and I always invite some people to join us for dinner on Christmas day.

Last year a colleague from work was going to be on his own for Christmas so we invited him to ours.

With my wife being Polish, they always lay and empty place for a stranger so iflt was nice to finally make use of the tradition

He was extremely worried about imposing himself on us but ended up coming and having a great time, as did we.

it's a delicate balance because you don't want the person to feel like a charity case

I'll be alone on the 25th, but i wont be lonely. Please be aware that lonely and alone dont always go hand in hand.

It’s easy to be lonely in a room full of people
