"Earlier the magnificent Food for Thought came on my randomised plays on Spotify. It left me wondering if UB40 are the most tragic (musically) of anyone else in 20th century popular music. They were writing wonderfully melodic, original and politically charged records like above and then out of the blue covered Neil Diamond and watched it top the charts not just here but everywhere including the States. Spent the rest of their career churning out crap, second rate reggae covers of other people's songs. Tragic." I think their best song was called “Tell me it isn’t true”. It’s on the end credits of the superb film entitled “Speed 2 : Cruise Control” | |||
