Some will say "You are how God made you" but what does that mean? Did God Knowing and deliberately make straight/bi/gay people of both genders? Why not? If so why is so called conversion therapy even being discussed? Seems to me that people and organisations are too keen to pick fights over trivia. In the big picture of life in the world situation is being gay such a big deal?

The church is a force for stupidity, it's delusional, toxic, brainwashing garbage. Individuals can believe whatever they want, obviously, but some of them got together to form a club and say that everyone else is wrong and damned to hell for the sin of Adam unless they join the club too. Belief fine, church not fine.

Hmmm, wasn't that what they offered homosexuals instead of going to prison, Alan Turing comes to mind, ironically given the the same drug the the Nazis used to sterilise Jews, pretty evil in my view. And what religious leaders, doubt very much it'll C of E?

The last government was going to do this but procrastinated. Hopefully this one will do something even though I haven't much time or faith in them. However, whilst they are at it, they should ban puberty blockers for anyone under 18. Nature should be allowed to take its course.

Roman Catholicism is the biggest lie created by Man. A priest told me it is a sin to be gay and have sex with men. I disagreed, so, I have left the Church and indulging in more sex with men, one-on-one or group as I believe man is born polygamous but monogamy is imposed on them.

Thing is, I'm guessing the objections aren't coming from Christians and Jews, certainly not the C of E because they are fully on board with LGBT and other so called "woke" causes.

As an aside, monogamy isn't imposed on anyone, it's a mutual understanding that people chose to enter into.

The assumption is that all romantic relationships are monogamous, unless otherwise stated. That's a broad stroke and there are exceptions, but on the whole that's how society has developed. Get yourself a romantic relationship and you're in it.

But divorce between 2 persons not allowed by the Catholic Church and not allowed to remarry in the Catholic Church. So the Catholic Church is imposing monogamy.

Gay conversion therapy should just be banned. I don’t care whoever still supports it. We are what we are, whether it be gay, bi, trans or straight. They should put the effort into crushing the remaining prejudice that still exists against anyone who isn’t straight.

The Catholic Church can do what it likes, if you choose to subscribe to it then you're choosing to practice monogamy.

I'm still a bit defensive of the Catholic Church having been brought up one and attended a Catholic boarding school. Don't regard myself as a Catholic anymore. Even they have relaxed their stance on homosexuality. The late Pope made some conciliatory overtones towards gays even though he did not endorse gay marriage etc.

Individual priests have various view. A Catholic priest made a pass at me years ago. We were both a bit the worse for drink. I rejected him more out of shock than anything. At the time he was a handsome Irishman in his late 40s and I was in my early 20s. On another occasion I had a live-in boyfriend who wanted to accompany me to church. So I took the risk of asking the elderly priest. To my surprise his reaction was 'If you love each other and are faithful to each other I cannot see a problem'.

Religion and it's interpretation by various sects groups is and has been a a major part of all or at least most wars and terrorism ever . From the crusades to today in Australia it puts people against people .

The church here in UK now is not about the Midsomer Sunday best father brown style church not the much alleged criminal organisation the Vatican presides over it's about living in a society with different interpretations of basically similar teachings x

Gay converstion therapy is a criminal offence and therefore should be in law . Although I was converted the other way I guess ha ha .

Further ref to source of my opinion

The film Spotlight

And Ricky Gervais on The Stephan Colbert show x

The church is losing it's influence over society - look how sparse and elderly the congregations are.

How many churches are halls or homes?

The next step should be to stop church seniors being in the House of Lords

All the world’s major religions try to control the sexual expression of their members. Who cares as long as it’s consenting adults capable of giving their consent. Treat people as you yourself would like to be treated is a good rule of life methinks.
