Do the other band members know that’s how you refer to your joint endeavour and how you’d describe them to strangers..?!

Less so now but before my split I was very creative in finding explanations for my other half as to why I’d be home late.

I'm a reasonably effective although self-taught and untechnical player of things with strings and frets (guitar, banjo, mandolin and mandola although I never could master bowing and intonation on violins).

I used to shoot and develop my own film rather a lot, and experimented with alt-techniques like paper negatives in large format cameras and cyanotype prints. Still have way too many film cameras that rarely get an outing any more.

My Mrs has taught me a lot about cooking and flavour combining and I'm pretty handy in the kitchen nowadays. We pretty much always eat scratch-prepared fresh rather than convenience grub.

I do some acting, mainly commercial but I've also speaking roles in TV dramas and film.

I also work as a voiceover artist and narrator, and produce user-generated content such as product demonstrations and other semi-scripted material. Companies hire me to produce this material.

Having played in bands for years, I can confirm that humour and banter, often self-deprecating, are very much a part of it.
