Quite predictable, Arne Slot isn’t a great manager tactically and won the league last year because City weren’t great. Also, last season Mo Salah contributed to 70%+ goal involvements, amazing season but not sustainable

Don’t think they needed Ekiteke and Isak, very similar profiles and should’ve used the Isak money getting a better left winger

Wirtz hasn’t been great either

Arne Slot is a solid manager, and we're still in the Top 4. We managed to beat Arsenal and Aston Villa, who are among the top three teams. The reason we haven't been playing well is that we unexpectedly lost Jota, which was a significant blow, and also Alexander Arnold, who is a huge loss. Salah hasn't been performing well for half the season, so it makes sense that he put him on the bench. It always takes time for new players to settle in. To say we won the title because Mancity didn’t play well 😇😇😇😇. I would suggest watch tennis instead

Winning a league title doesn’t automatically make you a great manager, would you say Ranieri is a great manager?

He won the league with Leicester when the league was incredibly weak for the year, but he isn’t a great manager.

Nope, great managers are the ones who can do it consistently without having a huge drop off the next season, the likes of Pep, Sir Alex, Wenger and Mourinho are premier league greats.

Slot doesn’t have the resume to call himself great, he’s good, but not great. Proven by the significant drop off this season compared to last, even though Liverpool spent £446m.

Drop off???? Arsene Wenger had a nine-season streak without a major trophy .

But yep , they are excellent managers. The leading teams may participate in approximately 70 matches, including those from other leagues. Therefore, it is not a trivial league as you might believe, where winning occurs every year. To successfully compete in all these matches and secure victories while ensuring players remain fit for each game is quite a challenge. Additionally, clubs have become wealthier in recent times, and all of them possess competent players. I understand that this may be difficult for you to accept, but the reality is unfortunately quite different from your perspective.give another shot

Yeah none of what you said helps your argument that Slot is a ‘great’ manager,

Regarding your point where ‘winning can’t occur every season’, has been proven false as Man City won the league 4 years in a row.

Liverpool have dropped off as seen from their league position, you guys relied heavy on Mo Salah last season (70%+ goal contributions for your team), without Salah performing at his best then Slot is a mediocre manager at best, as seen from this season

He is undoubtedly an excellent manager; just go and consult the experts. You don’t have to take my word for it. I never claimed that other managers aren’t great. Why do you feel the need to undermine him by mentioning other successful managers? You reference Wenger as a great manager despite a nine-year decline, and then you say a great manager must be consistent. Give it another try.

Next up for West Ham is a home game v Nottingham Forest. I think I might be watching that one.

Ratcliff also needs to leave; he is another businessman who lacks knowledge about football yet has inserted himself into the affairs of Manchester United, making decisions regarding managers and players. He reduces expenses by cutting out staff meals but then spends money on a group of ineffective players instead of retaining Rashford, their top scorer since Ferguson's departure.

It all matters. Gaining only 2 points in 2 games when your main rivals manage 6 matters, and I'd rather be 6 points in the lead then 6 points behind.

Wouldn’t mind Howe taking the job, seems like United need an experienced manager to just steady the ship for now. I don’t think Howe is good enough tactically to win a league, but United are a long way away from competing anyway, so would be decent.

If we could steal Unai from Villa I wouldn’t mind that, or if the board are looking for another young manager then Iraola looks decent even though his recent results haven’t been that great, his style of play is good and suits United.

Reports are suggesting Xavi may be in for the job, and considering the manager market isn’t too great at the moment I wouldn’t mind, can’t get worse than Amorim (famous last words)

He's certainly entitled to ask the question but as I said, I don't believe that history is so important. Arteta has finally got the players he wants, and you can see he has instilled a winning mentality. The likes of Rice, Gabriel and even Calafiori are leaders on the pitch.

Of course history matters. The fact Arsenal haven't won the title for yonks will be uppermost in minds of players, management and supporters. It's easy to say that it won't impact on what happens on the pitch but anyone with a grasp of empirical (football)reality will know different.

Excellent as he is, I'm not sure that Unai and United would be a good match. He seems better at instilling belief in a team of underdogs than managing primadonnas.

Iraola I would say 'may be worth a punt', but so was Amorim. At least Iraola knows the English game but as always, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Yeah Iraola is a big risk

I’d go for Xavi, he did pretty good at Barcelona, took them from 9th to 2nd in his first season, then won the league, brought in good players like Kounde, Raphinha, Lewandowski, and integrated youth like Lamine and Balde.

Out of all available managers he seems like the best bet

Semenyo plays for Man City now , and the team is poised to surpass a struggling Arsenal in the next three to four matches. However, we must not overlook Aston Villa, who convincingly defeated Arsenal at home and have a significant opportunity as well. Will Arsenal find themselves in second place again after 21 consecutive years? It seems quite possible that history may repeat itself, especially after witnessing Liverpool demonstrate how to deflate that inflated reputation last night.

You're 14 points behind us, cry more."

"Semenyo plays for Man City now , and the team is poised to surpass a struggling Arsenal in the next three to four matches. Why should I be crying?

1. 20-time champion

2. We beat you at Anfield

3. We hit your post and controlled the game at your place. You couldn't even take a shot on goal the entire match, even with 6 substitutes, while we played with just our eleven, missing all of our strikers due to injury.

Everyone knows who the real crybabies are.

Don’t Arsenal normally fold half way through the season?

North London (outer)

Xabi Alonso has left his position as Real Madrid manager after just eight months in charge, with his former Liverpool teammate Alvaro Arbeloa taking over.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the Premier League at some stage in his career, but where? Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City at the end of the season if Pep decides to call it a day?

Greenock

Having left the most corrupt club on the planet, and a bunch of spoilt "galacticos" who obviously weren't "having" him. I hope he finds a stable well run club. He seems a decent bloke. He obviously got "Neverkusen" to massively overachieve but is he really tested as a top manager, over a period of time. No. Man utd? I wouldn't take that job!

Think he’ll end up at Liverpool if they decide to part ways with Arne. Ex player and they’ve got his two ex players, Wirtz and Frimpong, who played amazingly under him.

Madrid have too many egos and the players have always ran the club, it was never going to work there, but tactically he’s an amazing coach and I’m hoping he doesn’t go to Liverpool

I don't disagree, Slot will be looking over his shoulder already.
