Highly variable. Used to find a guy in here 'in touching distance' but I'd have needed very long arms! Seems to be on an 'as the crow flies' basis, so could be miles by car. Another guy could show the same and I could see lights on in his flat in the next block. Treat with a pinch of salt

Think it may also depend on how often the distance calculation is refreshed/updated. They may have been where you are (or somewhere very close) but then have driven off and could be 10 or 20 miles away now.
