Free version of Proton VPN seems to be okay for my needs but don't really know an awful lots about the other potential options

I use Winscribe professionally. However the free version gives you 2 gb per month. If you register your email address that goes up to 10gb per month.

The free version isn’t brilliant for streaming two FHD movies will blow your allowance but is fine for General browsing. The pro version has no data limits and access to many more faster servers.

North London (outer)

I find the free ones to be very slow, especially for IPTV. Subscription to a service such as Surfshark, which you can use on as many devices as you have, is quite inexpensive and much faster.

I use Urban VPN Proxy, which can be added as an extension in Google Chrome.

Proton can be free, but it useually pings from NL so if you leave it on the adds can be mystifying.

Handy for Rumble which isnt available in UK.

Brave browser has a pretty good addblocker and duck duck go blocks trackers etc

Proton email is easy to use and has some good options too.

I prefer it to all others but use gmail for official comunications.

All these are free.

I use the VPN that comes with McAfee Total Protection, currently available for £9.99 for a year's cover at Argos.

You can choose from nearly 50 different countries for your VPN host.
