Looks like they are bringing in carpark charges in the New Forest soon.

Some of it anpr, some of it patrols.

It might deter some people from some certain "beauty" spots.

Not for me, as I can cycle there and I'll be getting a yearly pass.

The annual passes are very good value if you're going to be using it enough over the year. The individual prices although not extortionate soon add up

Well, as much as it hurts to have to pay out more money I've come to the conclusion that I will get a yearly ticket because it does work out cheaper than paying by occassion. Plus, as I like to chuck the bike in the back of the car to go for forest rides, I also like going for forest walks. Especially if there's a chance of meeting up with top or vers guys who want a hole to fuck. Random meets in the forest always seem to get better results than trying to get meets on here. So as I can't see myself staying away from the forest and any cocks, paying the price it has to be.

Just north of Southampton

"Happening in places all over the country, councils are all broke. "

That's because they are starved of funds from central government and have too many legally required services to maintain! So it's soak the cash cow motorist again by selling off all the municiple car parks to mafia private car park companies!

Parking charges came into effect today, you cant go into car parks after 11pm either. Some of the reasons is to curb anti social behaviours aka guys sat in cars staring at each other (thats actually funny to watch), or leaving used condoms and tissues everywhere.

Sad times but guys cruising in the forest have had an impact, the forestry commission started cutting back the gorse and bushes in the more well know areas.

The cars constantly going in for a drive by to see who is there then out again also add to the wear and tear of the tracks, which are in a sorry state.

I've been to walk the dog, quite innocently and walked past guys sat in cars wanking or in suspenders (ffs!)

Just a reminder for those that go into the forest for fun to be more discreet, and take your litter home.

It's understandable, car parks need to be maintained and the cash has to come from somewhere, also it will limit parking on the verges which damage them. The owners of Ashdown Forest in Sussex have done the same recently.

Just park at the side of a quiet road or a layby. No one bats an eye lid.

It's not rocket science to know the most frequented places are notorious for sex and and unwanted interests

I live near NF area and ive seen the abuse and lack of respect for the environment increase so the cost of cleaning has risen too..ie debri left after a picnic ..garbage left from campers and sex paraphanalia left by doggers/cruisers ...take your waste home ..squirrels and foxes have no use for empty cans or used condoms...

I’ll be out in the New Forest this weekend. Not surprised that they’re charging as lots of the car parks need some serious maintenance. For those that complain about having to pay, who do you think you pay rather than us - the people that use them.

As for leaving condoms and tissues lying around, that’s how these places get shut down. There is no excuse. Find a bin or take it home.

Forestry Commission in general have increased their prices.

With a National debt to keep up with the interest payments on. Which was £226 trillion, the last time I looked. Central government have got other issues to ponder. Mandelson, not withstanding.

Certainly make sure you are familiar with the nuances of the car park. No one want to have to explain a £80 fine, with a B and W photo at 1 a.m. Leaving with a big cheesey grin, or whatever on your face.
