How long will Starmer last?

I reckon he's a goner by end of march. And for what it's worth Reeves either slightly before or after.

Andy Burnham is burnishing his crown.

Be a shame when people conclude he's a condescending twat with a stupid accent too. But I accept he might be slightly more relatable to people north of the M54, although people from Farageland will still hate him (much good being a bluff salt of the earth northerner did Angela Rayner eh?)

Really Starmer's entire problem comes down to loudly proclaiming his working class origins while sounding like a public schoolboy, albeit a less expensively educated one than Johnson.

"Really Starmer's entire problem comes down to loudly proclaiming his working class origins while sounding like a public schoolboy, albeit a less expensively educated one than Johnson."

I don't think "entire" is right. Being a nasal bore like John Major and a closet Blairite who employs old Blairites doesn't help.

And he talks complete cock -

" Walk into the morning, the sunlight of hope, pale at first but getting stronger through the day, shining once again, on a country with the opportunity after 14 years to get its future back. We said we would end the chaos and we will. We said we would turn the page and we have. Today we start the next chapter, begin the work of change, the mission of national renewal and start to rebuild our country."

(Keir Starmer on 5 July 2024, following his general election victory: Wikipedia)

Although the majority of people seem to agree his days are numbered there are various views as to when it will happen. I think things will accelerate rapidly in the next couple of months, especially in the event of yet more u turns on things like Id cards or business rates. It's getting to be a giant joke

Stermer is going nowhere. I'm no fan. He's too right wing for me and his government position on trans people and the genocide disqualifies him as far as I'm concerned. But he's going nowhere. And even then if it came down to it I would still vote for a Labour candidate if it meant stopping Reform.

But I'd rather vote Green.

Starmer's insipid, directionless, deceitful leadership is clearly in trouble, but I'd put money on him lasting till after the May local elections, when Labour is likely to receive some devastating broadside blows. If he fails to weather that storm and resigns, it's likely to be after that, maybe paving the way for a new leader before the Summer Recess.

Dizzy Rayner would be out of her depth and is too thick for the job, and Miliband is known as a joke across the world and definitely shouldn't be allowed anywhere near it

Mandalsion was appointed Ambassador to the USA in February 2025.

Sacked in September 2025.

"The trigger, the Foreign Office says, was a cache of emails revealing "additional information" that it says showed his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted paedophile, was "materially different" than known at the time of his appointment." Curtesy of BBC news 10th September 2025.

Why has it taken 5 months to blame Starmer. Probably the new revelations of Mandelsons emails giving sensitive information to Jeffery Epstien. But that was back it 2008. No one new about that until a couple of days ago.

Mandelson certainly did not provide the truth on that point. So it is very likely he also down played his relationship with Epstien as well.

It will be up to the The Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament to look at the information given by Mandelson to the vetting team.

If Starmer is correct he may well get out of this one. But future events may well end his Premiership.

P.S I AM SICK TO DEATH OF THE CONSTANT BACK STABBINGS OF POLITICAL PARTIES.

Starmer has made too many missteps and U turns on policy, and then there was the freebies scandal at the start of his premiership. He may well swerve the bullet over Mandleson, but he surely realises that his days are numbered? The May local elections, will see many good Labour councillors lose their seats through no fault of their own, and that will weaken considerably Labour's influence and so Starmer should go now and take a seat in the backbenches. Reeves must go too.

Can't see the HoC voting in favour of an election. Would be like chickens voting for KFC. Plus it would probably produce a hung parliament with either a weak minority government or a fractious coalition made up of goodness knows who.

I agree 'silly knickers' Rayner would be out of her depth and so would 'off his head' Silliband. We'd be a laughing stock with either of those two.

In that case so should Farage with his 'house purchase' and 'forgetting' to declare various expenses. Seems rather ironical that a one time MP for this constituency, where I currently live, got prosecuted, re-called and subsequently defeated in a by-election, for a trifling amount he did not declare; yet these 'big hitters' seem to get away with it.

Right here is the schedule. Starmer resigns mid May.

David Dummy--sorry--Lammy takes over as interim PM.

Contest for new leader/PM down to a choice between Lammy and Miliband

August: Results announced. Miliband wins by a hair's breadth and becomes PM.

2028 After one disaster after another and countless u-turns Miliband is compelled to resign and so a new leadership contest takes place

Point is they have no one ready to replace him. After the by-election candidate fiasco Andy Burnham is not eligible. The delectable Ms Rayner may had ambitions but a lot see her as a joke plus she is tainted by the tax evasion scandal. Streeting, often looked upon as Starmer's 'heir apparent' is slightly damaged goods because of his Mandelson connection. Lammy and Reeves a bit of a joke. Cooper a possibility but lacks charisma. Yesterday one of the papers suggested another minister as a potential leader. So important I've forgotten his name.
