I've heard Aldi's running out of popcorn.

Nye Bevan once famously got chastised for calling Tories vermin, but witnessing the amount of sinking ship desertions you have to concede he had a point.

Apart from the fact they have not implemented a single policy from their manifesto

And not to mention to amount of policies they have tried to introduce and U turned on !

And we won’t mention their big bid for no.10 was they would definitely not raise taxes and starmars 1st official act as pm he hiked up taxes !

Let’s not mention Labour big drive to out the Tory’s as liers and cheats ! Oooops yet another whooopsie with labours own cabinet in pretty much same circumstances!

Yeah let’s all keep Labour in power for more lies tax hikes and U turns !!

Reform! The 1 trip pony band

They plan for uk to leave the echr to allow the export of illegal migrants !

No mention of how they plan to run the country afterwards and headed up by farage !

Torys ! Well we know exactly what to expect from them as we have all been living under their shadow!

Lib Dem’s ! The party headed up by a man who made a substantial living by enlarging women’s breasts with the power of thought !! Enough said !

The 4 parties summed up !

If being honest i wouldn’t trust a single 1 of them to run a bath never mind a fucking country!

I personally think no matter who wins we as taxpayers are all in for a very rocky ride!

There’s not a single party that has brought anything to the table thats in the uk best interests!

And what ever they do bring to the table will end up with more tax hikes and poorer conditions for the working person!

We are what’s known as

Up shit creek without a paddle and heading for a waterfall!

"Two vile offensive parties spilt the vote. Labour stay in power. What’s not to like? "

Could be playing straight into Labour's hands. Happened in 2024 when about 90 Conservative MPs lost their seats thanks to Reform splitting the vote. However Labour is far from perfect. Renown for being the nasty 'green with envy' party with its stealth taxes and dislike for anyone who tries to get on in the world.

The reality is that British politics is a total unadulterated mess - with a directionless, record 'U' turning government, a minority opposition in recovery and slowly rebuilding, Reform chasing traditional values without acknowledging modern Britain's multicultural reality. Minority blinkered parties focusing on a few isolated issues.

Part of the problem is that traditional qualities like loyalty, honesty, and dignity seem diminished. Historically, Britain has adapted to change (like we did following the turmoils of the Second World War).

We desperately need a strong, decisive leadership reflecting modern Britain with traditional values of strength, honesty, loyalty, patriotism, dignity, fair play, respect, resilience, community spirit, tolerance, courtesy, integrity and a strong united sense of direction, all of which seems to be missing from the corridors of power.

By now, we should have well and truly moved on as a strong and independent world-leading Britain, leaving the divisions of Brexit behind and focusing ahead on our future.

Political parties can have wonderful ideas when in opposition. Unforeseen national or world events can shake there very foundations once actually in office. Look what happened with the Johnson government with the pandemic and the Ukraine war. The current government won by default not popularity. The Conservatives had lost their way. Labour haven't found their way yet. Reform and Green probably look new and exciting even though both seem to be single issue parties garnishing support from the disillusioned right and the disillusioned left. Both their leaders seem to be a cross between an egotist and a nutter. I hope that there isn't an election before 2029. By which time politics may have had a chance to sort itself out.

If the pipe dream we was sold at the time had of materialised then it would be a different society!

Instead our useless politicians fucked up and didn’t actually get us a great deal from what we voted for !

My understanding was to become independent from the eu!

Where infact we seem to be deeper indebted to the eu than before and still live under their rules and regulations whilst paying higher rates than the current members of the eu!

How is that independent?

And now snidey starmar is attempting to get us back in the eu via stealth methods! That goes against the majority brexit vote of the democracy that voted out !

I do agree with democracy, absolutely. Which is why brexit had to go through even though it was a huge mistake.

Its just a shame that the public were lied to so much.

Remember Gove saying People have had enough of exports, the German car giants will save us, they need us more than we need them.

The pipe dream was that we could have that great deal.

Cameron new we couldn't so left.

May couldn't get it, so was chucked out.

Johnson couldn't get it (remember the oven ready deal which was just no deal).

A good deal wasn't possible, so people were fouled that there could be.

It was 9 years ago and about 5 prime ministers, has cost a fortune and as you point out, still does.

So we need so.e closer ties for business to work and we are going to need to be part of a European army if trumps leaves nato.

Times change.

I can't see how Left wing politics will ever make a come back in my lifetime"

Ironically the Left loonies cant see that the rise of the right is down to their own woke ideology

they go on about politics being divisive but that's purely down to the Left having become so self-righteous they call people 'bigots' and 'racists' just based on the fact that these people disagree with them

I expect Reform to be pretty useless and/or chaotic and once they are done I'm never voting again

I have never voted Tory and Labour are a spent force

Tell me why I need to vote reform!?

What will reform bring to the table ?

What are reforms plans to rebuild the uk stalled economy?

What are reforms plans in regards to the nhs?

What are reforms policies with welfare?

What are reform’s proposals for taxation?

This is why I believe the Left is dead and gone

"Two vile offensive parties spilt the vote. Labour stay in power. What’s not to like? "

The more pertinent question is what's the difference...between any of them, including Labour, the party which has entirely deserted the working poor.

Note my comment WORKING poor.

When I was a teenager, one wage in a household of two adults and two children was enough to pay the rent or mortgage, pay all the utility bills, put clothes on the family's back, have a week's holiday away once a year, and still have enough left over to put away some money for the future.

Both Tories AND Labour are guilty of creating the current situation where in many households BOTH parents have to work full time just to pay the rent and utility bills, leaving no money left to buy food, and therefore having to resort to food banks to feed themselves and their children.

What is clear is that the policies of every government since the 1970's ha failed abjectly to improve the lives of the majority of its citizens. Quite the opposite in fact.

And I believe that should Reform win the next election, their supporters will find themselves extremely disappointed when they find that Farage is no different to the rest of them.

I think you're parrotting Daily Mail/GB News talking points. While Bevan would undoubtedly likely regard the current Labour govt as a pale and ineffective shadow of actual socialism, I doubt he'd find them quite as evil as he genuinely believed Tories to be.

100%

ATM the uk has no faith in the government

We are being taxed higher than any other country and our spending is through the roof due to our costs

Starmar publicly stated on live tv pre election that Labour had a plan for uk economy to cut the cost of living crisis that would be effective within months

We are now nearly 2 years in and we are in a worse position than before

Labour blatantly lied pre election and have continued lying and fumbling through ever since!

I personally have zero confidence with a labour government! And I don’t particularly want tories back in

Reform are a 1 trick pony Lib Dem’s and Green are are delusional as space cadet on a pill !

The main issue with reform is they can’t afford to turn anyone away !

Because (god forbid)if they do happen to win the next election they won’t be capable of standing because they won’t have enough ministers !

But as it’s already proven what’s the point of having rats as ministers anyway!

Tories have proven themselves liers

Politicians are not stupid (bar boris Jonson!) people they are cold and calculating! The fact the are willing to drop their beliefs (apparently!)and defect to the opposition tells you everything you need to know !

They are looking out for themselves not the taxpayer!

"Labour have been a disaster "

They have an established reputation for disaster, between the Labour Party and their sponsors, the Trade Unions, they tore the heart out of British industry during the Wilson, Callaghan, Scargill, Robinson et al era in the 1970s.

Many thousands of jobs were wiped out, and potential careers for future generations were also denied. But, of course, the Labour Party politicians and Trade Union leaders themselves were 'alright Jack' – many still living in their comfortable luxury homes on sumptuous pensions.

Yet blinkered Leftists of course deny the actual facts of the matter and futilely point the blame at the Tories who weren't even in power at the time that the destruction was inflicted!

Proof of this government's disasterous failures? Certainly sir, here's just some:- Underfunding the armed forces, Council tax rises, Economic mismanagement:- energy prices and cost of living crisis, escalating prices in the shops, Tax-and-spend agenda:- killing growth and fuelling inflation, Welfare and bureaucracy:- welfare spending spiralling, civil service top heavy, Stamp Duty:- lacking courage to scrap it.

And on the same topic, no less than a record breaking 13 U-turns in 18 months on:- Digital ID, Winter Fuel Payment, Benefits Cuts, Income Tax Hike, National Insurance, Day-One Workers' Rights, Waspi Women, Tractor Tax, Pub Tax, Grooming Gangs Inquiry, Green Investment Plan, Bankers' Bonus Cap, Nationalization Plans. Think that's sufficiently enough proof, wouldn't you say!

It's rumoured that a prolific Labour MP is going to do so too! I wonder who?? Loyalty seems to be an outdated concept in today's world, regardless of one's political perspective!

Well currently around 85% of the electorate don’t like them, so must be something. Clearly passes you by though.

Interesting times in a way. All this defection and jumping ship yet the polls, unreliable as they are, are showing Reform's share of the vote slipping whereas the Conservative share has risen slightly. Certainly here in Wales, where we will get a Senedd election in May, Reform's vote seems to have slipped.

Wonder if all this jumping ship will affect peoples voting intentions? Personally party swopping and treachery is a massive turn off. Smells of opportunism and lack of real convictions. Doubt Zahawi or Rosindale will give Reform much of a boost. Jenrick might but a very small one as a lot of people, myself included, will now see him as a shallow traitor. Hopefully things will settle down before the 2029 general election.

Im in Scotland, I fully support the North Sea oil and gas so I will vote either Conservative or Reform as these are the only two parties fighting for exploration and maximising production.

I also support scrapping the green energy nonsense.

Let's face it, the whole World is searching for Oil and Gas and can't buy enough, where as we have it and don't want it.

Labour, SNP and Ed Miliband are sure taking the piss out of everyone

Rossindale's a natural for Reform. The bright side of the defections will be the factional squabbling that is bound to develop between the old guard and the newbies. Then, status will depend on who is most adept at rimming Nigel. The party should be dead by 2028. Popcorn, please.

Hmmmm?..... A wee bit of cynical thinking here.... perhaps the influx of former Conservatives to Reform UK might be a deliberate attempt to sabotage the party's chances?

Traditional anti-Tory voters, currently disenchanted with Labour, may perceive Reform as merely a rebranded Conservative party, thereby deterring their support. Once Reform fails, those who defected could potentially return to the Conservative camp, allowing them to maintain influence while disrupting a potential rival and thus ensuring the long-term survival of the Conservative Party which is being severely threatened at the moment. Of course, that's probably reading too much into it... perhaps?? 😄 Politics is such a dreadfully messy business, certainly not for the faint hearted!

Well said. I do wonder if welcoming all these bandwagon jumping fickle ex Conservatives into Reform, might prove a shot in the foot for Farage and co. There is a rumour going round that a Labour MP might join Reform. If he or she did that would be a far bigger boost that a dozen ex Conservatives. Unless said MP was such a minor, unheard of figure everyone would be saying "Who?"

I will never be a Labour supporter but if, during the next 3 years, they ditch their nonentity leader in favour of someone with a bit of inspiration and personality, the economy starts to pick up and the 'boat problem' improves [even Ms Mahmood is trying] also the Conservatives start to look like a potential government-in-waiting again, then the political landscape could change again

Labour's time came when the workers realised they were being ripped off and decided to do something about it. But it's obsolete now. It never did truly represent the very lowest-paid, whose unions were weak. The current generation has not yet realised how monstrously it's being ripped off by ingenious new ways of stealing its wages to pay for pretty toys. Reform is irrelevant - it wants to remove controls on the rip-off. The Tories are crippled by their abysmal record, and the remaining parties are mostly a joke.

It may just be that a party capable occasionally of telling the truth could succeed in these desperate times. Or is the public just too stupid and gullible?

"The reality is that British politics is a total unadulterated mess - with a directionless, record 'U' turning government, a minority opposition in recovery and slowly rebuilding, Reform chasing traditional values without acknowledging modern Britain's multicultural reality.

"

I'd vote for you.

I could not agree more! Our current politicians are a disgrace. Living in Scotland we have an election coming up so we do have a chance to vote.

Reform - no way

Conservative- A joke

Labour - i would have 3 months ago but now with their weak reaction to trump- impossible

SNP - Want independence and the state of public services in Scotland - never

Liberals - my only option. The only one I can see who is standing up to a bully, which in all situations in life you have to. They call a spade a spade. That's where my vote is going

The buffoon who was the Reform parliamentary candidate around here in 2024 [he came a poor fourth] couldn't answer that question. Made a few vague 'deterrent' ideas. Also could not answer straightforward questions about their fiscal or economic policies that just don't add up. He was clearly a bit rattled and ended up saying 'Nice to talk to you but have a lot of other voters to talk to as well.

Farage has rallied up his troops of social media halfwits about 1 agenda!

Reform have put nothing else on the table about taxes nhs welfare defence etc………..

but as long as the boats stop the uk will be saved ?

Oh no he has explained how intends to stop the boats(about the only thing he has explained!)

So his 1st port of call is the leave the echr (European court of human rights!)

Then once that’s in operation there isn’t a legal team that can oppose deportation!

When that’s all in place his 1st phone call will be to the admiral of the navy where he will order ships in the channel to stop dinghies making to British shores !

Or that’s my understanding of it anyway !

The Faragite agenda is based on simplistic answers and promises that sound god but aren't practical and cannot be done overnight. When the EU referendum was held Farage convinced his supporters that we would up the drawbridge and leave the EU within an hour of the result being declared. No doubt he and his gang think we could leave the ECHR on his first day in office. Not as simple as that. Also he cannot guarantee the Royal Navy will play ball with turning the boats back. One top admiral has already expressed concern about this.

I would not trust the Faragites with the NHS. They may not abolish it straight away but I think they are more in favour of an American style private health insurance scheme that could affect an awful lot of people. They have similar ideas from private rather than state pensions plus lowering the minimum wage for young people.

One way their numpty of a local candidate said they would save money would be to halve the Civil Service. I have little doubt the civil service could do with a radical reform. However redundancy payments and a suddenly swollen dole queue would cost the country a fortune.

So knocking of 20p per litre on petrol and raising the tax threshold may well be pie in the sky. After all Reform councils were elected with the promise not to raise council tax yet they have all increased in it areas they control.

Considering oneself better informed or of a higher intelligence doesn't negate that those "social media halfwits" are a large demographic that have the right to vote, and that they will do so on a single agenda, just as the electorate did with Boris on 'getting Brexit done".

It is naive to believe voting on a single agenda is limited to being below a certain IQ level.

Facts and risk are unimportant to some people when it is a polarising issue, it becomes so important to them it outweighs everything else.

Opposition to immigration has become an issue that can no longer be swept aside as purely racism.

Pushing back at people's emotions as being stupid racists only creates further polarisation.

An often heard complaint by those against immigration is "We were never asked"

Acknowledging peoples fears, justified or not, demonstrating a willingness to listen and developing a policy that is seen as democratic is the key, not further division.

Quite honestly I would not trust the Faragite hardliners where gay rights are concerned. Their latest 'big recruit' Rossindale is very anti LGBT. I once emailed Reform asking their stance on LGBT issues. Got a 'Thank you for your question. We will reply in full shortly' They never did.
