I don't think that is the main reason anymore. The reason councils are closing public loos is to save money because they are under funded and have increasing legal requirements for certain services! Blaiming the gay commuinty is just their public reason/excuse for closing them! Perhaps we need to fight back on that! Diversity, inclusion, equality... eh! | |||

Yes you need a username and password to access the site, but (in theory) anyone can create an account, including those who are only interested in causing harm to us, google it and you will find there have been incidents where the police have been involved. | |||

In these enlightened times... I don't think that is the main reason anymore. The reason councils are closing public loos is to save money because they are under funded and have increasing legal requirements for certain services! Blaiming the gay commuinty is just their public reason/excuse for closing them! Perhaps we need to fight back on that! Diversity, inclusion, equality... eh! "Yes that is the main cause. There is not a “Statutory Duty” to provide them so when budgets get cut it is an easy way for them to save money. However, it is also a major issue when out as we all need to genuinely use a toilet at some point. | |||

"They still exist. A lot of local councils 'allow' one cottage in their area. Its normally in a low footfall area and they turn a blind eye to the 'antisocial' activity that happens there unless they get complaints from the public. Don't ask me how I know! After hearing what some have told me on here and other sies, it's probably a good thing they did close. Cottage glory holes were plenty, no matter where you went around the globe but now very few. The closest to that dynamic was while working in Oz, going to Adult Stores. Many had Video Booths with Glory Holes in the walls. Closest you can get to the old cottaging days except except all legal. Pity there aren't any like that here in the UK."
